For no other reason than I can't be arsed seeing the camera go to see his reaction every 5 minutes, I hope you're right.

It's the only way he can affect a game these days.

Yeah, the minimum playing time is a good approach. I don't think overly placating Ronaldo will help with the unity of the squad. It didn't work for Ralf, as @Pogue Mahone said; not taking the crap perhaps makes ETH the natural leader. Which we really need.

Yeah, I don’t think even the Portugese contingent will throw a strop so long as Ronaldo’s treatment is fair. And there was nothing unfair in any decision ETH made yesterday, as you say. I think the players will all realise that.

He did when Rashford came on for him. He wanted Elanga taking off instead. I don’t think he got subbed again under RR.
What a complete bellend. Thats whats different with ETH compared to RR. He is not afraid to make those decisions on Ronaldo, weahter he sulks or not and he sulks.

Ridiculous from him last night, there is no excusing it. It's pretty clear we are seeing the end of his time with the club and rightfully so unfortunately.

He must be seeing, as we all are, that we are a better team without him in it. I have no doubt from his point of view that is incredibly difficult to take having been as good as he has been throughout his career but the difference with Rashford/Martial through the middle to Ronaldo through the middle is so huge it's got to be impossible even for him to ignore, even though he will see himself as a superior individual player to both (and possibly rightly so even now, but he's obviously nowhere near as good of a fit for this team).

If Martial is available at the weekend I imagine he'll be on the bench and Ronaldo won't be in the squad. Ten Hag isn't going to put up with him leaving early, it's pathetic; regardless of his views on the managers decision.

Told you we should have sold him but got pounced on by ronaldo fanbois.

Take him where? A nice day trip to Chessington?

We didn't want him in the summer and we sure a sshit won't want him in January. You're stuck with him.

But... If we say please?

If that story was true he'd be a Chelsea player and Tuchel would've been sacked sooner than he was.

I guess we'll see. Tuchel is gone, Ronaldo needs out and Boehly just needs to pick up the phone.
I agree, hard to see Potter allowing it to happen even if Boehly still wants him.

Whether he forces it or not, wasn't the club willing to let him go if he found a club ? So isn't it all unnecessary?
Think his wages are a massive problem for the level of club he thinks he deserves. It would either be us paying him off, or shouldering some of the wages. Otherwise he will have to just go to a league where it will just be about hero worship and money.

If Chelsea takes him you should write I was wrong 10 times.

i thought potter spent all of his free time trying to explain the offside rule and why there are draws, to boehly.

Yeah if you go back to the threads on him last season there were many on here accused of having an agenda about him for having the following views:

- too old to build a team around
- offers nothing if we don’t creat chances for him and we are not good enough to carry a player like that
- can’t play in a high pressing team
- petulant and selfish and is Ronaldo first ie. Doesn’t really love the club and would have gone to city
- more or a problem than an asset to any new manager
- can’t play 90 minutes and too much drama when taking him off or leaving him on the bench.

All pretty much bang on and yet still a huge proportion of fans on here accused others of having an agenda and of blaming Ronaldo on the clubs woes. Legend and all that…

The club has been up shit creek for years. Ronny iced that cake…anyone with a bit of cop on could see a rebuild was necessary…just odd that so many seemingly revelled in his return without seeing it for what it was. Desperation - and a backward step.

Back in those threads I referred to it as “the emperors new clothes”.Glad not to be lambasted for having that view anymore.

Not good enough.

If I was ETH, I would get the lads in before training, get them all together in a circle and ask Bruno Fernandes, as my captain on the night, Maguire as club captain, DDG as the senior member of the squad, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford as local Academy lads what they thought of his actions and whether he should be allowed to train with the team

The squad have to start policing themselves. You can't have the manager as the 'headmaster' now...it doesn't work. The players have to be responsible for enforcing standards, setting the tone and weeding out liabilities, ego's and time-wasters in the same way that Keane, Bruce, Pallister, Rooney, Robson, Hughes, Vidic etc...would have done.

"You're harming MY chances of winning trophies by not meeting the standards of teamwork and commitment required so I'm not tolerating it" attitude

If lads like Rashford and McTominay want to win trophies with their boyhood team etc...they need to realise this s**t harms their chances and clean house, whoever the culprit is

It’s as if he’s not even content going quietly in January. He wants to create a scene of chaos before he leaves. He tried to do the same in the summer by asking to leave last minute at a time when he knew we were short of options. He knew full well we didn’t have UCL football for months. Pure narcissistic behaviour.

But this isn't normal office job.

If you want to compare it to normal office job, I would say it's like Everyone, managers, staffs etc in the office are celebrating the success of new product launching. It has been tough few weeks, so everyone is a good mood and one staff decided to just walk out and go home when everyone is cheering..

Just few weeks ago, everyone in the office were celebrating his 700 goals, ffs.
Yes but I am not the one starting this comparison to normal office job, I am just replying to someone who use this normal office job scenario as an example.

The attitude he showed last night, making it all about him is the attitude he has always.

Selfish and egotistical he has always been. But when he was banging 40 goals a season in it would gloss over it.

Now father time has caught up with him and he lost some physical attributes he is no longer able to be the main man but it would appear his ego isnt letting him accept that fact and the toys are very much coming out of the pram.

He wants to be the main man, he wants the team to revolve around him but it's quite clear at this level he simply isn't good enough for that to be the case.

It's a shame because he still quite clearly has plenty to offer if only he would accept using his experience and ability to help the team rather than asking the team to help him achieve personal goals.

I doubt we’ll even see him on the bench for the next couple of weeks at least. ETH will be fuming over another Ronaldo attention seeking stunt. That was disgraceful behaviour last night and I’d imagine it pissed off his team mates too. Wanker. Proper wanker.

I can't see anyone wanting him in January without us basically paying him to leave. His stock has gone down even since the summer.

After the World Cup, it would make sense for Ronaldo to go to MLS, if being king of the hill is his objective, or some Saudi club, if amassing even more wealth is his goal. But for the sake of everyone involved, he needs to go. I accept being out of form, but I cannot accept acting like a spoiled child.

That is, if he stormed off our of petulance and not because he had to take a dump.

Would it be that much of a problem to pay him part wages from January onwards, for the shorter half of the season? Just to get him out of the club. He's completely toxic, not that he hasn't been for most of the season, but every week it's in the media now and he isn't trying to hide it.

I really don't see why we should. If he's so desperated to play every minute/leave the club he should be the one to take a pay cut elsewhere. Either that or accept the role he is given by his employer. Exept if in his contract he is promised a certain number of starts or minutes. Otherwise do as you're told or go.

Yeah, we really need to get rid, which is going to be extremely difficult until he can leave for free next summer.

United legend my fvcking arse, never wanted the waxy looking twat back here anyway and I’m starting to despise him. Football legend no doubt about it but not even close to being a legend here

His majesty couldn't even celebrate the best performance of the season with his teammates, what a cnut

Not that hard to imagine. We have some (@RedRonaldo ) on this forum who throw out gems like:
"I don’t cheer City goals which are not scored by Ronaldo. If your son played for City and scored for them one day, would you cheer for him?"
"abit of cult thing in terms of my support/worship, I won’t be ashamed to admit it, as I have already stressed that I could only speak for myself."
"Whereas Ronaldo to me, he is more of “religion” or even a “cult” thing to me, rather than just a hobby, hence I am comfortable to admit myself as a Ronaldo fanboy"

His cultists calling another grown man a "religion" is pretty disturbing.
You are really getting obsessed at me

Now that’s weird
