Ronaldo (37) Slaps Phone Out of Child’s (14) Hand | Charged after 5 months of deliberation

It’s the legal definition. It makes it sound like Ronaldo has absolutely battered him but nobody is suggesting that. Merely referring to in the eyes of the law what it is called.

Destruction of property is about the only charge that would probably fit.

Where's Raymond Reddington, when you want to make someone vanish?

I do like that the kid's just having none of it as Ronaldo's handlers make thoroughly misjudged attempts to smooth it away.

Destruction of property is about the only charge that would probably fit.
If we're being technical then the kid supposedly has bruising, so could qualify as ABH right? I can't say I'd expect it to go that route though...

Hilarious that this is even a story.
More like hilariously bizarre that you actually seem to think the biggest star in the biggest sport on the planet doing something like this in front of cameras would not be a story.

First sun article I’ve read in a very long time and I actually don’t think she’s doing all this for the fame here.

Seems like a genuine my son has just been hit by a man why the hell would I want to make things better for the man who did it?

I actually think she comes across well in that (which rarely happens in Sun stories).

Worth mentioning, I think, that her quotes in that are from Sky and the Echo. Unless I missed it I don't think she actually spoke to The Sun, which is potentially a thing someone from Liverpool would want made clear.

 talking about being attacked like he's set about him.
She's milking it for all it's worth.
Which is to be expected, he shouldn't have reacted like that but come on, 'attacked'.

Yes, 'attacked'. What else was Ronaldo doing? Just because he didn't beat him up or hurt him much doesn't mean it's not an attack. If that was my child I'd be "milking for all it's worth" too, no doubt.

*Cue JFK music*

So I've noticed a discrepancy with the photo being used to highlight the alleged attack on the day in question.

Based on this image we can see that it is the top of the kid's left hand that has been bruised. Notice the position of thumb and fingers.

NINTCHDBPICT000725725133.jpg

Now look at the child in this frame and the way that he holds his mobular device. Clearly he holds the phone in his open left palm as god intended.

kid-1.png

The next frame shows the alleged attacker walk towards the innocent child. Note the phone is still placed in kid's open left palm (hard to see but true).

kid-2.png

Then the moment before the assault when the evil ne'er do weller winds up ready to attack. Clearly the kid's hand hasn't moved, nor has his grasp changed.

kid-3.png

So you tell me Redcafe. How did Ronaldo bruise the top of the kid's hand based on the angle and trajectory of the bullet slap?

Dare I say it. Maybe we're looking at a second slapper here??

Only, he didn't attack him did he. He slapped the phone away.
They've made the comparison to being attacked in the street.
Get yer compo face on lad.

So the photo being used to highlight the alleged attack on the day in question shows the top of the kid's being brutally bruised.

Based on this image we can see it is the top of the kid's left hand. Notice position of thumb and fingers (assume he has normal human anatomy).

Next frame sees alleged vicious attacker walk towards innocent child. Note that the phone still placed in kid's open left palm (hard to see but true).

The moment before the assault when the evil ne'er do weller winds up ready to attack. The kid's hand hasn't moved and he holds phone same way.

Was wondering that myself. Unless the downward motion of the slap has knocked the kids hand into a railing or something. .
Maybe the kid has easily bruising thing goin on or summat.
How do we even know it's the same persons hand?....

Now that you used that line thrice, or four times, I think it's only fair I give you the appreciative laugh for which you have been unsuccessfully trying with it since yesterday. Even though I had to google it on urban dictionary.

Given you cant at all see his hand...not sure you can assert this.

I wonder how the media would respond these days if a manager gave a fan a smack in the face like Clough did back in the day

He'd probably get 10 years imprisonment

That's a very good point- I only skimread it and assumed they had their own quotes and were just padding with the Sky and Echo quotes, not basing the whole article on them.

DOTA's made a good point, debunking some of this, and I do think she is right that the offer of a visit to OT is a bit shite.

:lol:Compo and sadface are staples of British journalism, typically while pointing at the offending thing or a representation of it. World war references are optional, but preferred.

You're right but I'm in conversation atm with Everton Football Club to gather CCTV footage. Trust me, the evidence will corroborate the defense.

I can't say more for legal reasons.

white text in case anybody genuinely thinks I'd actually care enough to mount a legal challenge.

There’s a massive difference here, I wonder if you can work out what it is.

Also he’d probably have been forced into rehab, would definitely have been much better for him than what did happen.

Ano you’re taking the piss, but this is exactly what I meant earlier, if you’re holding a phone in your hand it’s more likely the back of your hand is facing the ground.

Thanks for the detective work Vidyoyo P.I..

Such a pathetic non story. Accept the apology and move on for goodness sake, greedy shits.

So the mother has refused to meet with Ronaldo, she’s going to be milking this for everything she can.

Only, he didn't attack him did he. He slapped the phone away.

Which is a fair and valid comparison. If someone slaps a phone out of your hand on the street it's assault. She comes across fine in the article.

So the mother has refused to meet with Ronaldo, she’s going to be milking this for everything she can.

Why on earth would she want to meet a United player especially after he slapped a phone out of her son's hand?
