Ronaldinho

Just VoetbalWizard being a Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime.

Nothing new there...

his wages may be a problem, but i think they could easily make a profit on shirt sales alone!!

i would hapily go out and put ronaldinho on every united shirt i have

The reason i brought this up is although we need both, i doubt we will buy both a top class (expensive) striker and attacking midfielder. We may not even buy any striker at this point. Ronaldinho would therefore be a perfect 2-4 year stop gap solution to provide the flair and creativity to get the ball to Rooney from the middle. It would in effect also create better width for Nani and Valencia to operate in, as opposing defenders wouldn't be able to confidently double up on either of them with the knowledge that Ronaldinho is marauding about in the middle. In that sense, it would be a perfect solution for both player and club.

Would love to see it happen, he is a World class matchwinner, and if anyone can get his head focused Fergie can. It is doubtful though given our transfer policy, not signing 30 year old players with high wage expectations, having said that though, he is the calibre of player we should be getting and any of the younger players who are class have mad price tags in the £40-60m region which I don't think we will sanction so what do we do, sign nobody and get left behind? There has been a lot of talk about signing an attacking midfielder but look at our midfielders, Fletch, Carrick, Scholes, Anderson, Hargreaves, Giggs and Gibson, is there room this season? Looking at our approach the past few years we have tended to have a midfield that is disciplined, can keep good posession and has a work ethic, with the front 3 left to do the damage, it has served us well and I would expect us to go with that again.

Ronaldinho is a liability defensively. I'd rather not.

Agree. A number of players sacrificed themselves for Ronaldo. Are they going to be willing to do the same for Ronaldinho? Rooney would have to start tracking back instead of saving his energy for when chances came.

Would be a great player to bring off the bench or start against the weaker teams.

His wages would be ridiculous though.

It depends on what level we're aiming for, if it's Newcastle from a few seasons back when they were signing Duff and Owen, then he'll be a fine signing, if it's anything higher then we shouldn't even be looking at him.

That's not a very good comparison, as Duff and Owen aren't now, nor have they ever been at his level of talent. The only possibly legitimate counterargument is that his wage demands may be too high. To suggest that he's not good enough when we have the likes of Berba and Owen on the books is nuts.

I agree it's the type of player we need. Some people have suggested Silva but I'm not sure he has enough goals in him. The old Ronaldinho would have been perfect.

I haven't watched him at Milan. Do they want rid of him already?

How many of you would like to see Goofy at OT on a relatively cheap transfer next year ? Why or why not ?

I would have much preferred to have seen RONALDO, as in the Brazilian one, at OT in early 2007 after he left Madrid and no-one wanted him. He subsequently went to Milan where he showed he was still deadly, until he got injured again. 3
But we got Larsson and his little cameo seemed to work well....

I doubt Ronaldinho is a man they want to get rid of. After Kaka left for Real Madrid he as made the attacking midfielder spot his own, and been as close to the old Ronaldinho he is ever going to get, probably his best season for years...

Not particularly hard given he barely broke a sweat in the two years that passed after he won the CL, aside from when he was out on a piss-up, that took some real effort.

The chances of seeing Ronaldinho sign a new deal with Milan are diminishing as neither party can reach an agreement, according to Telelombardia and 'Qui Studio, Voi Stadio'.

On Tuesday Ronaldinho's brother and agent Roberto De Assis was in Milan, where he met with CEO Adriano Galliani to revive the embers of previous failed extension talks.

Ronaldinho's deal expires in 2011 and he is on wages of €8 million per annum. Milan are offering him a one-year extension and want him to spread the €8m wages across two seasons: 2010-11 and 2011-12, meaning he will have to accept a 50 per cent wage cut to fall in line with the club's new €4m salary cap which comes into effect next term.

Milans main attraction recently was their high wages. Who's going to sign for them now?

What would EA do for the FIFA cases???? Two Manchester United players :nervous: Next we'll have the scousers on us!

 what do you mean?

 Milan haven't had an AM this season. With Ancelotti gone they switched to 4-3-3. With Pirlo deep in midfield and two ball winners ahead of him. Ronnie plays left wing now

My Milan supporting mate said he was waving to the fans and stuff as if he's leaving.

Sure, but only if he is cheap. I wouldn't use him as a starter in big games as he is lazy but he could be a great squad acquisition and super sub.

Ronaldinho started 33 serie A games scoring 12 times which looks decent until you notice that 5 were penalties. No idea how many assists.

Brazilian media have reported that Ronaldinho has agreed to leave AC Milan and return home with Flamengo.

The GloboEsporte.com website claimed on Tuesday that the Brazilian star has verbally accepted an offer to join Flamengo and is waiting for authorization from Milan to complete the deal.

The six-time Brazilian champions are currently in talks with the Italian giants to secure his release as the 30-year-old still has a year left on the three-year contract he signed with Milan when joining from Barcelona in July 2008.
Meeting confirmed

Flamengo president Patricia Amorim has confirmed she met with the former Paris St Germain and Gremio forward in the past few days but no official details have been released.

A two-time Fifa player of the year, Ronaldinho scored 12 goals in 34 Serie A starts for Milan last season but missed out on a place in Brazil's final World Cup squad.

The Porto Alegre-born star is currently spending his summer break in Rio de Janeiro, where Flamengo are based.

Ronaldinho helped Brazil win the 2002 World Cup and has scored 32 goals in 87 international appearances.

He also won two La Liga titles and the Champions League in his five years at Barcelona.

Where the unprofessional twat belongs, now he can party all he likes and eat all he wants

That's pretty out of order as well as being ignorant.

The Brazilians actually lead the way in many respects in terms of conditioning players and fitness techniques.

He was very good for Milan last season and if a couple of frankly dodgy-looking photos of him suggest he's 'relaxed' over the summer I think it's understandable considering a World Cup was going on and he was snubbed. Frankly, he should have been in the squad and I expect him to do well back in the Brazilian league.

He reportedly missed many training sessions for Barca due to being unprofessional, I read somewhere that is was an amazing amount during one season. Something like 80%? (can't be right)

Being honest the way Ronaldinho is so slow, and his lack of agility I put down to Ronaldinho, he obviously preferred the partying lifestyle over maintaining his conditioning. He used to get in trouble for it during PSG, at Barca he was the best in the world so they could afford to turn a blind eye to his lax ways but when it started affecting his performances they shipped him.

Ronaldinho should still be at Barca, he should still be up there with Messi, but it's all down to his own unprofessional ways he's going back to Brazil. He was good for Milan but he can be so much better, he ruined his own career and I don't feel remorse.

Every aspiring footballer should look at Ronaldinho as an example of having all the talent in the world is not enough, you have to seriously be dedicated to your profession to stay on top.

I'm sorry Baldwin but Ronaldinho disgusts me, I used to adore him, but it's obvious which lifestyle he prefers, now he can be truly happy.

I don't think he is calling you on your criticism of Dinho. I think he was calling you out because it seemed you implied that the Brazilian league is full of unfit players who have a partying lifestyle.

If ony Park (or any other hardworking and no nonsense player) had all of his talent. We'd have the best player ever

If Park or any other hard-working and no-nonsense player had Ronaldinho's talent they probably wouldn't be hard-working and no nonsense.

I prefer when they land somewhere inbetween, lex Paul Scholes or Wayne Rooney.

He's no longer in a league that would demand him to be so strict with his fitness, it's truly a retirement home for a player like him, he can now balance out the two lifestyles with the talent he has.

Yeah but you know what I mean right ?

fecked his career by age 27 because he likes beer and burgers. I'm glad he's left Europe because the pale imitation that is Ronaldinho nowadays is just a sad sight. And yes I saw him for Milan this year, decent enough season. Absolute shite compared to a few years ago.

That's all fine if it's your opinion but saying 'He's where he belongs, unprofessional twat' casts the game in Brazil in an unfair light in my opinion.

I never understand these high and mighty pronouncements people feel the need to make about players whose careers end or tail off prematurely. He's won the World Cup, the Champion's League and I guess league titles too along the way, player of the year accolades etc etc... You and I will never know what that feels like and what it does to your motivation...

'fecked his career'... I love you guys... In which way is winning the World Cup, Champion's League etc etc and millions and millions of pounds 'fecking your career'? I assume you're Pele?
