Lukaku is a good player and wouldn't be a bad signing, but £100 million is absolutely insane. Suggesting that we should be breaking the world transfer fee record, or even coming relatively close to it, is ludicrous. There are much better players available for substantially less in Lacazette, Belotti and Aubameyang.
But Lukaku DOES have the potential to be top draw. Plus his goal record is unmatched in the league for a player his age. For his goals alone he is worth a punt IMO and despite what many think, flat track bullies are the ones who win you league titles. This is why I'm not super enthusiastic about the possibility of signing lukaku. For 60-80 million you should get someone absolutely top drawer or with the potential to he. Lukaku has weaknesses you don't want when you spend that fee.
Rooney valued at £30m may be about right, but Lukaku at £70m, not even close for me , Rooney and £35m is closer to the mark.

I dont think he is a donkey, has an Everton fan said to me , feed him and he will score, but he does have a tendency to go missing in games. Not worth a 100 mil but not the donkey most make him out to be. I would be happy with his signing
Would absolutely love to have Lukaku I think hes the best option from the players that seem to be available this season. 100m is ridiculous and hes not going to elevate us so far ahead but Cash + Rooney could be great!!
He doesn't have good stamina or work rate. Which is understandable given his weight, though i think he should shed some mass and become more lean and run more. What you get with him is a quick player, who is good with the ball at his feet for such a big player who is a very good finisher with both feet and head. You also get a player who has shown desire to improve every season and that can yet get better. Plus hes home grown. I don't think he is best as a static target to lump the ball to which given his size people tend to want to do, i think he is better as a channel runner where the ball is played into space and he runs onto it with his pace.In my opinion, he is very similar player to Higuain - A flat track bully who will definitely score loads against lesser opposition but will be somewhat limited against tougher defense, and we really miss that kind of player in our roster.
His control and first touch are definitely not WC, but he can shield the ball well, he is very strong, has a good stamina and great finishing, so ticks all Mourinho's CF boxes.
Think he can only get better with time, and with proper players behind him.
He would be my first (realistic) pick for CF position.

Has anyone ever scored so many goals but still maintained a huge suspicion of "he's an absolute carthorse"?
Everytime he's played against us at Old Trafford he's looked absolutely pony.
I think his build actually deceives his size. Mass wise he's not that big. I say that being next to him in the flesh, but at the sametime I'm far too bulky to be a pro footballer.
Never considered him a " big games player " and that's my biggest concern about him. I can't see him the type of striker that will lead us in CL for example, when we're meeting better defenses.
You must be some colossus! Im not sure how accurate the height and weight stats are but if they are accurate or indicative: lukaku 191cm 94 kg compared to harry kane 188cm 86kg. Seems abit overkill for a footballer, if accurate he should actually be put through a regime to shed maybe 3-4 kg and get leaner while still retaining most of his power.
