What the hell are people waiting for. We've announced we've reached agreement, he's spoken about how happy he is to join.

People take the whole 'won't believe it until he's photographed holding the shirt' line to a ridiculous extent.

waiting for the New York stock exchange to open obviously

Even on here there's that one Spurs fan saying if Lukaku is worth 90m then what's Kane worth? - That post drew plenty of ire on the Caf.

Strange, seeing as that Spurs fan is entirely accurate in the assessment. Will it matter if it's not a Spurs fan saying it, but a United fan? Let's try: Kane is clearly the better striker and overall better footballer, and would naturally also be worth more than Lukaku in terms of a transfer fee.

How that draws the ire of the Caf is beyond me. As if criticising Lukaku compared to Kane somehow equals to attacks aimed at the posters on Lukaku's side in the discussion.

By the way, here are Lukaku's and Kane's numbers in the Premier League, going back 5 seasons:

Matches | Goals

Lukaku:

35 | 17 (2012/2013 – West Brom)
33 | 15 (2013/2014 – Chelsea/Everton)
36 | 10 (2014/2015 – Everton)
37 | 18 (2015/2016 – Everton)
37 | 25 (2016/2017 – Everton)

Kane:

4 | 0 (2012/2013 – Tottenham/Norwich)
10 | 3 (2013/2014 – Tottenham)
34 | 21 (2014/2015 – Tottenham)
38 | 25 (2015/2016 – Tottenham)
30 | 29 (2016/2017 – Tottenham)

Kane continues on a steady curve of development, with the stats to back it up. Lukaku has flapped around in comparison to Kane, and has broken the 20-goal barrier only once in his five full seasons. Kane has broken it three times in as many full campaigns. Of course he's worth more, what's there to even argue?

Kane was consistently part of a stable good team while Lukaku was in teams that constantly went through ups and downs.

I was against signing Lukaku myself as I don't like his type of striker but some of the arguments against his signing are really poor.

Good Squad

yeah imagine that after that ESPN interview earlier saying why he has agreed to join United and he didn't need to think twice because it is the biggest club then having to try and get to Chelsea
Hypothetically it would still be possible, Mikel was photographed in United clothing already and still switched the last moment. It's extremely unlikely but better avoid such a situation than repair it.

If he picked us over Chelsea then I am truly glad to have him even though I initially wanted Morata. RVP joined us when it was City who were the flavour of the month winners and helped us win the league. Hope things turn out the same way.

Does the squad seem to be really lacking in quantity or am I afraid too much ?

I mean the first 3 lines are all GKs and defenders. That looks poor.
Thought so too
Forgot about AYoung. What's he still doing here?!

Rojo, Shaw and Young have been injured and probably won't play so it's 3 keepers 11 defenders although Tuanzebe and Fosu- Mensah could play in midfield and Mitchell can play on the wing and 11 midfielders or attackers which will be 12 when Lukaku joins the squad. Considering we're only likely to play a maximum of 22 players in any game and probably won't even use that many in some of the games I don't really see a problem

Maybe I'm the one worrying too much then.

Looking at that squad list really doesn't fill me with confidence for the coming season. Many average players, lack of balance and little depth.

People are questioning whether Kane would cost more than Lukaku?

What?

In terms of quality think they are about the same, whether Kane would cost more than Lukaku is obvious tho. Being at Spurs you will always have to pay premium.

I sense some people are getting panicky so just wait until United land in LA, transfer should be confirmed late tonight. Lukaku has already posted pics on his snapchat of him having a medical, conducted an interview about why he's joining United. The club likes to do interviews with the player and take pics before making it official.

Why hasnt this been confirmed
Hopefully they're letting Rooney and Everton have their day and will announce Lukaku late tonight or tomorrow I imagine he has aleady signed just a matter of when to announce it.

Don't think it will be official any time soon, team on the way to LA, plus, give some time for Goodbye Rooney momentum.

edit: Roberto420, good thinking:lol:

Himself and Lindelof are great additions however we are far from ready for the season. We should really try and convince Griezmann to move this summer, we can't afford to wait for him another year. Griezmann + a solid defensive midfielder and we are looking much better.

It's not about whether he's right or wrong, it's that the post was deliberately written in a provocative fashion, and plenty took the bait. That's what I was trying to highlight.

That squad is only for the tour and not for the next season.

Thank goodness you pointed that out! I assumed the window was over and that was next season's squad in full! :nervous: obviously I meant that there's a lot of work to be done and I don't see us fixing all of these problems soon.
