I think this will be announced when the team gets to LA, Mourinho and Woody will want to take pics with him.

For them it's a business decision since it's their job. He has absolutely no connection to United. He didn't promise to move to United and even if he did he is human. He can retract his decision anytime since it's his life.

The legal profession has been making great strides recently

Big Rom, Big Maroune, Big Lindelof, Big Bailly...now find a good dead ball specialist...James it is....

I kinda find it weird that we're confirming deals are agreed pending medicals, then waiting days to announce. Did we do that before Woodward, cause I can't remember any?

Nonsense. I'm just a stingy fecker.

"I don't think it's actually do with the club's finances, but instead it's to do with other fans and social media. I'd imagine the vast majority of people complaining over the price are doing so because of perceived mockery from rival fans for overpaying."

It's not your money, and actually it's not really your business to tell the club how to run it's finances.

It's not worth worrying about. If you were a millionaire would you care if some bitter jealous people mocked you for buying an overpriced luxury yacht?

There is truth to this, but it's still so meaningless. Mock and reply is a general social media thing though, not specific to football.

I agree, but I'm pointing out what I see as the major reason rather than trying to justify it. You're both right in that we shouldn't care, but fans are so passionate about football that it's easier said than done. Rather people are more likely to get into heated discussions or even arguments to try and defend the club in direct response to others provoking them. Even on here there's that one Spurs fan saying if Lukaku is worth 90m then what's Kane worth? - That post drew plenty of ire on the Caf. Places like twitter are only worse for trolling and fishing so to speak.

It's just an ego thing at the end of day. As United fans I'm sure we've been gloating and laughing at Andy Carroll's across our rivals for years. I personally don't care if we have paid over the odds for Lukaku, I only care that he delivers. We're in a position where we don't need to look for value in the market.

Kanchelskis, Howard, P Neville..

We actually have a pretty good relationship with Everton when it comes to transfers.

We nearly ruined it while that cnut Moyes was in charge. At least Everton had the last laugh there I guess.

Do we know when the tour squad will be announced?

MUFC squad for the tour on United's Twitter account doesn't have Lukaku in it.
Is it OK to not include him? We have announced the deal, So why aren't we including his name in it?

Hypothetically he could still move to Chelsea as the personal terms havent been signed yet I think.

Pointless to even suggest that considering he's already given an interview as a Man Utd player.

not officially signed/announced so it wouldn't be proper. Perhaps we are holding off this to give Rooney his moment.

At least Lukaku is talking about it so we know it's done.

Thanks for sharing something actually insightful and relevant. It pretty much sums up Lukaku. He scores goals. For some reason, people think that we'll be creating as many chances as last season and he'll just be banging them in. That a striker is the last piece of the puzzle. It's not, if that striker is Lukaku.

We're still far off from challenging for the league title or posing a serious threat in CL. And we're not closing that gap with Lukaku, as I don't think he'll improve our game (or his own) significantly from here on. What you see is what you get.

Seeing how Mourinho lacks tactical prowess in attack and instead just relying on certain individual quality to get the job done, I don't understand the notion that we've advanced come next season. Perhaps that'll change with a few more signings, but don't get too disappointed if you don't like what you see when we've played, say… 20 matches or so (all competitions).

Yes, there were matches we dominated and created tons of chances in, with only the goals missing. But it's misleading to think that it was consistent throughout the season. We had too many matches where we looked completely clueless going forward. That's down to tactics as we'll play the outdated Mourinho way, and unless we sign a Messi or Ronaldo, I don't see that changing, regardless of who comes in.

What a load of rubbish.
Not his fault we have shitty wide forwards and the two we put our hopes on didn't perform in Martial(still recovering from his split) and Mkhi(shitty first season everywhere he's been to?).

ESPN have an interview with him and what it means about joining the club, filling Zlatan's boots and rejoining with Mou. In the interviews there was a caption that says the medical was completed Saturday.

He'll have signed the contract in the same building where he did his medical. He's a United player, just waiting to announce it. Probably out of respect to Everton and Rooney, to let them have their media attention

I don't even remember us doing it before this window, it's a very strange practice.

Gives us double the media exposure, wouldn't be surprised if that's a factor in it. We did do it with Pogba last year too I seem to remember.

Yes. That's why it doesn't make sense to not include him in the Squad.

You can't name him in the squad if he hasn't been given his big announcement yet that'd just be such an anti climax. Amazed people are surprised he wasn't named.

I didn't tell anything to the club. I can agree or disagree with a club decision and it won't have any consequence on how the club is run.
