This is the extended 5 minute ESPN interview. Talks about the transfer, United, Mourinho, replacing Zlatan.

Fecking brilliant interview. He came across really well. Intelligent lad on top of everything else.

'Biggest club in the world', 'didn't have to think twice', 'best stadium in England, 'best fans' (nobody show him the Rooney thread), 'the best manager in the world'.

This guy just sounds like a United player. A proper, sound bloke.

I think the Pogba factor played a big factor in enticing him here. It's helpful being a 'cool' club with 'cool' players.

Of course it will. Do you not think if a club buys a player from another club who owes them money for other players that this isn't worked into the deal?
Are you taking the piss? I genuinely can't tell.

BTW, Lukaku doesn't really seem that bad on the ball from the videos I have seen. I don't think he can be classified as a " poacher " only.

I don't think it's actually do with the club's finances, but instead it's to do with other fans and social media. I'd imagine the vast majority of people complaining over the price are doing so because of perceived mockery from rival fans for overpaying.
It's not worth worrying about. If you were a millionaire would you care if some bitter jealous people mocked you for buying an overpriced luxury yacht?

That Lukaku interview. I swear if Martial had half the drive and ambition...

That Lukaku interview. I swear if Martial had half the drive and ambition...

He had it in the first season. The problem it seems it heavily calmed down in him after the first season success.

If the last season didn't motivate him enough to return to his top form then I don't know what will motivate him.

I really liked the interview and it showed exactly the kind of player we want, very hungry for the success.

After seeing that interview, i'm not surprised Mourinho wants him. Drive and ambition sums this guy up it seems.

"I've been talking to [Pogba] for about seven or eight years. And now he's living in Manchester," Lukaku explained. "I live in Manchester. He lives like down the road from where I live, so we're together on a daily basis.

"He was explaining to me how it went at the club, and it triggered something in my head. When the opportunity came, I didn't have to think twice. I'm really excited.

Half of the agent fee should go to Pogba.

I dont think its going to be 90m. The press have over exaggerated the last few transfers. Pogba was 140m at one point. Lindelof was 45m. Remember reading Mkhitaryan was 35m...

I would like to know what Neville thinks about that Sun article.

The whole thing doesn't sit right with me. The Star this morning claims Chelsea were 'never serious players' in the transfer, but merely keen to demonstrate to the manager their credentials as potential big spenders. This could be Stamford Bridge briefing like mad, but we're told they matched United's bid in every particular except the agent's fee, which they refused to provide for, although £10M is hardly enormous by modern standards. Players are easily influenced furthermore. Chelsea must have known that in the modern game you pay agents' fees or you don't get the player. Penny-wise and pound foolish? I'd ask a more cynical question: why submit a bid one might think was almost designed to fail?

Robbie Fowler has said the deal smacks [and who knows more about smack than R. Fowler esq.? (yes I know it was mainly cocaine but that would ruin the joke)] of last minute desperation. I'm not sure he's wrong. I too don't get why he would take up again with a player he sold because he 'wasn't ready' to lead the line at Chelsea yet who retains many of the faults that caused his departure in the first place. If Lukaku's ambition to be the best in the world isn't just talk he has to sort his game out and fast. Jose believes he can turn base metal into gold perhaps. Good luck to him. For my part I remain to be convinced.

Something not kosher about this business.
How can it be last minute anything when there is still the best part of 2 months left in the transfer window? If it smacks of anything it's getting the deal done early.

Fellaini on deadline day was last minute desperation this is anything but. By the way why are you even listening to what Fowler has to say about United?

He's not too different to Chris Smalling on the ball in my opinion.

Great finisher though, and will bully defenders.

First minute desperation is even worse.

The fecking Star? Ha ha, might as well read the Beano. Every man and his dog knows Chelsea wanted the player. Their embarrassing reaction on Friday told you everything you need to know about that.

And how the feck is the start of July, before pre-season has even started "last minute", what the flying feck @TheLastEnglishman, a car crash of a post.

That's the video I saw. Looks good for me. I'm not asking for the finest touch in the world as he's not a playmaker but he doesn't look like a terrible footballer away from the goals.

After watching that interview im satisfied we have the right man with a United personality.

Just saw a video of all of Lukaku's Everton goals and noticed that he consistently scored against the best teams in the league, especially city. Honestly, I don't know where this bullsh*t myth comes from.

Agendas out in full force. If you actually watch highlights of him you can see what he'll bring and it's exciting. Don't buy all the Everton fan nonsense about the 'average player' stuff, classic fan mentality when they lose a player.

Also, when is the club going to actually announce this with the shirt etc?! Been waiting for hours.

Smalling has controlled the ball well and completed passes before too. And I love Chris by the way, but I genuinely think they are similar level on the ball. Fellaini is better on the ball than Rom. I often described his game on here in the past as having absolutely 'no silk', which has made it hard for me to form a bond with a forward player. That said, he's ours now, so things are different.

I agree in that it doesn't mean he can't be an effective player for us by any stretch. I would prefer if we put top class technique/flair around him though than prioritise Perisič, but ultimately we'll see what happens.

His career record vs United, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Spurs and Chelsea is:

57 games, 15 goals.

Again I'm not asking for the finest touch in the world, I'll ask that from the number 10 or midfielder but for a striker what I saw here isn't bad at all, at least I can say it's the minimum from a striker and it's not that bad for me.

Lukaku won't be building the attack or making long balls or crosses, the minimum will be holding up the ball or dribbling past defenders using his physique and speed , if he does this ( and score goals, of course ) I'll be fine with him.

My everton fan mate is absolutely seething. Fee must have gone up to around £115 million now, plus we're paying Rooney half his wages ourselves. When I pointed out that I'd happily pay my own wages to get rid of Wayne "yeah but we'll make loads of money from shirt sales".

Raging. Sign we have bought a good player.

Saying he is technically bad is very unfair. His passing is a bit shit that's all.

How often would you expect Everton or West Brom to score against those sides? I'd say 15 in 57 is a pretty good tally against those sides when considering how vastly superior his opposition was when compared to his team.

Here is a video where you can see more of his general play. He's no Berbatov, but to compare his with Smalling is just ridiculous.

His first touch is the worst aspect of his game. Worse than his passing. And to answer your question, not very often.

Wait, that's from a fake Snapchat account. His official snapchat account id is Romelu.lukaku10.
But the name in the top left is the same as in these ones? I don't use Snapchat so I'm not fully sure how it works.

Edit: I think he posted those on his Instagram story. Bah, there's so many different social media platforms to do the exact same thing. His Instagram says the snapchat is the account you state. As you were x

Yeah they're on his Instagram. Finished his medical 10 hours ago. Also the photo signing Pilib De Brun's kids jersey with the caption "First Man United fan I've met #blessed #thankgod"
