Lukaku has posted on snapchat that he has signed a 5 year contract and everything has been finalised!

I genuinely don't care about the fee at all. It's the miscomprehension of articles written in pretty straightforward English that engages me.

Why are people bringing up the deals for Keane and Schneiderlin when this is an entirely separate transfer? None of that will be worked into the add-ons.

Clearly lots of people don't have a clue around finance and in particular how deals are structured. Rarely does a club pay an entire fee upfront, a rare exception is Ronaldo who Utd insisted Real pay the £80m up front. Schniederlin's fee would be due in instalments and has NOTHING to do with the Lukaku or Rooney transfers. The next instalment will be paid in accordance to the schedule set out when we sold him. Lukaku monies will be seperate.

Furthmore as discussed earlier, the liability for Keane lies with Burnley, it has no impact on Everton - they can't just pay us instead of Burnley, we will get our 25% from them in due course.

An example of an add on is - Lukaku scores 50 PL goals for Utd, then we pay Everton an additional £5m. Or if we win the CL with Lukaku as a registered player, then we pay Everton an additional £3/5/10m.

Everton can value Rooney at whatever they like, but it the two transfers are not connected, as seems to be the case then Rooney has no impact on the Lukaku transfer whatsoever.

The obsession football fans have with their club's finances is weird as feck.

I don't think it's actually do with the club's finances, but instead it's to do with other fans and social media. I'd imagine the vast majority of people complaining over the price are doing so because of perceived mockery from rival fans for overpaying.

Very similar to Pogba, especially moving to another club because it was the right move for his career (Pogba moved to Juve).

Would you say this is down to their agent? (they are both signed under Raiola)
Could very well be. Seems like a complete cnut for clubs but seems to do everything for his player.

Maybe. "we just need a few players to get better", whilst not an unreasonable assumption, is still a somewhat hopeful assertion. I don't get the vibe from mourinho that this is all in the cards when it comes to attacking players though.

Maybe a few of them are going to benefit from a more direct style of play but I think you're moving towards a similar setup of Rafas Liverpool. Solid defence with two top attackers having to shoulder the majority burden of getting more than one point from the game whilst the team secures the clean sheet and try their best to set the stage for the two main guys to do the business.

Not saying it's a doomed strategy, but I think you will be be a team looking to score decisive goals rather than plenty of goals. And I am not sure how well you will cope when plan A is not working.
Thats not too far off especially the Rafa part and its a method that has worked for Mourinho as his trophy count proves. The fact is there is never one way to win trophies and regularly winning trophies is what matters at the end of the day. Someday not in a too distant future fans will demand more and Mourinho will leave but his successor will inherit a team of battle hardened warriors - a much better fate than Mourinho himself encountered when he came.

Nobody gives a feck about the club announcing it, each of them keep on announcing the completion on their own

Wait, that's from a fake Snapchat account. His official snapchat account id is Romelu.lukaku10.

No he doesn't. :wenger:

He doesn't even have a Pogba interviews...that's how much of a blatant liar this freak is.

How can he have inside information when he didn't have one darn clue we were signing Lukaku. He has no influence whatsoever. the man is crazy.

Who said he has inside info? I said he has enough contacts and pull that he can get an interview with Lukaku before he has actually signed.

This place being taken in by obviously fake accounts should leave nobody questioning the continued popularity of Facebook

What the hell are people waiting for. We've announced we've reached agreement, he's spoken about how happy he is to join.

People take the whole 'won't believe it until he's photographed holding the shirt' line to a ridiculous extent.

There was someone a few years ago that claimed they wouldn't believe it until the player had scored a goal for us. So they could have played 10 league matches and they still wouldn't have believed it unless they were on the score sheet...

I don't think it's actually do with the club's finances, but instead it's to do with other fans and social media. I'd imagine the vast majority of people complaining over the price are doing so because of perceived mockery from rival fans for overpaying.

Nonsense. I'm just a stingy fecker.

Seems like it's a personal problem of yours and not his loyalty problem. Footballers dont think like fans do. All we think of is United. For them it's a business decision since it's their job. He has absolutely no connection to United. He didn't promise to move to United and even if he did he is human. He can retract his decision anytime since it's his life.

I don't personally have an issue with his decision. i understand the decision. I wish he wasn't loyal to them. oh well. life goes on.

I actually wish Zlatan would resign for half a season now.

Imagine Zlatan and Lukaku as a double pairing upfront... holy hell... Double Beast mode.

Opposition players would come off with bruises everywhere

Finally let myself watch his youtube goals compilation, one thing that stands out is his ability taking first-time shots. Seems a very instinctive finisher.

Maybe due to his poor first touch, he's just worked on the art of not having to take a touch at all

Dont think it is that, i just want it announced and seeing him holding the shirt. I just want it officially done and move on from redcafe for a while, now i need to check more often instead of doing some work. We are excited, not nervous about him not coming here or that he wont sign.
This. It's like when you get a new house/car etc. Even when you know it's sorted you just want it all official.

Shed End said:
The incident in LA is enough to make me glad he's not coming here. He's obviously a bighead that thinks he's above the law, and seems to be a long way up himself.

Anyway, how many "proven" goalscorers do we have to sign to realise that statistic is not transferable.

Shed end is happy he wasn't signed because of a noise disturbance. Solid

This is the extended 5 minute ESPN interview. Talks about the transfer, United, Mourinho, replacing Zlatan.

Why do people still moan about the transfer fee's? Just get over it.

He'll be fantastic for us. What a spine of a team Jose is assembling here.

DDG

Bailly Lindelof

Pogba (New CM?)

Lukaku
What has Lindelof done to warrant a place in that group?
