If Zlatan prefers a club in the Champions League and Kane is unrealistic. Lukaku would be my choice.

Given the TV money, buying anyone in the PL would be like extortion. For the right player it might be worth overpaying for but I don't think Lukaku is it...given the one chance or so we create per game, he'd probably not be that effective anyway.

Yes

Lukaku also wants to play a club in the Champions League. Didn't he say this month? He is ready to make that step up to the Champions League.

You are right. I just think that Lukaku is more realistic than Kane. But as you mentioned, he is ready for the next step.

I cannot see him going to Madrid, Barca or Bayern. If he wants to play Champions League, PSG would be his best option. Also, I dont think he will sign for Leicester, Tottenham, Arsenal or City, even if they play in the Champions League next season.

He said the other week on Sky Sports he wanted to leave Everton, to play in the Champions League.
Yes, I read about it. Somehow I believe that he is Mourinho's type of striker and he could sign for us instead of going to Leicester, Tottenham, Arsenal or City.

There were rumors that Atlético de Madrid and PSG are interested. So maybe he could go to another league.

If we buy him we pretty much resign Martial to the LW long term, the only striker I'd do that for is Kane.

Yep, he certainly won't be coming to Spurs - we're not in the market for hugely expensive strikers. It's a backup for Kane we need - a prospect who won't mind too much being on the bench for much of his first season.

We definitely won't be signing Lukaku but I'm not entirely convinced that we won't sign an expensive striker, if and it's a big if, we can get one that can play CF or in one of the 3 positions behind, for example somebody like Morata.

It's a big risk for us to only sign a young prospect to back up Kane, we are always just one injury away from a major problem. We tried to fix the problem with Son or N'Jie but it doesn't. A player like Morata wouldn't be purely a back up to Kane , he can play CF when needed and get plenty more game time as well. We will also need more goals from the 3 next season if we are going to continue to progress.

Maybe he's a bit curious? They'd never be able to afford him.

We would, don't worry. Ruhr Nachrichten (BVB's media partner) and Kicker both ran the story that we're after him yesterday. However, I don't expect it to come to fruition.

Nah, you wouldn't.

If you bought him would it be as a replacement for Aubameyang or would he move wide and essentially replace Mkhitaryan?

That's difficult to tell. I'd guess though it would be a replacement for Auba.

They would, if the story is true he will be being lined up as a replacement for Aubemayang who is probably Madrid bound for substantial money.
Even without selling Auba we would but it's a theoretical discussion anyway.

Of course, it seems a bit sketchy and ill timed, why would Lukaku look around another club the day before the Merseyside derby and a few days before their biggest match of the season in the FA cup tie with United. Either very poor professionalism from Lukaku or a nothing story.

It would be interesting to see how Tuchel adapts the team if you change Auba for Lukaku as they are quite different and the fluidity of your front 3 would not be the same.

With the audacious fees Everton hold out for? I'd expect the big PL sides will keep you out of the party, and Dortmund looking elsewhere to invest cheaper and probably more wisely in the long term.

Even so, I hardly believe they are willing to spend all that money on Lukaku.

We wouldn´t. IF Auba transfers this Summer, it will be for a massive sum around the 100 Mi. € mark. Lukaku would cost less than that, which would make a swap at least on paper interesting, as we could invest in the squad with the difference in money.

Tell me then. He'll cost 50m at the very least.

What is there to tell? We are financially extremely healthy without any debt and quite some reserves (around 40 Mil. € last time I checked). Actually, the transfer plus we currently have (even without a potential Gündogan deal) and the guaranteed CL money next season alone would be enough to finance Lukaku in theory. Not that it will happen that way, simply because Lukaku would not join us without the clear perspective of being first choice striker, which basically means that if Lukaku joins, Auba is gone.

That's not a problem. We are dept-free, have >50m reserves, robust revenues despite no Champions League money, and very keen to invest. As I said above though, I'm convinced the deal won't happen. I doubt Lukaku would like to join a team with little chances of winning the Bundesliga title. There's no guarantee for that at any team in the EPL but the gap between Bayern and us is bigger than between 5-6 teams in the EPL.

That's why I wrote I don't believe the deal will come to fruition. Not everything that's financially possible is wise to do. And, of course, I don't think Lukaku would seriously consider a move to us or the Bundesliga in general.

If you were to pick a starting 11 out of Everton and United. It would be a close run thing in numbers. Coleman, Stone, Baines, Barkley, Lukaku would all be shoe ins just now and a few more names you could argue. We are not loaded with quality at United right now. Darmain, Rojo and Mata are starters for us plus Rashford is a kid but he starts every game now. The way our squad is a mess imo.
Deulofeu has a shout. Shaw may pip Baines if the plays as he did beginning of the season. Stones I'm not so sure. Has he had better season than Blind\?

Both have had good periods and some bad games but think I'd take Stones over Blind.

none of their back 4 have been good this season. Our back 4 will easily get into a combined eleven as bad as Rojo Darmian have been

Never in a million years would Rojo and Darmain get in a combined 11 over Coleman and Baines
