José has always had/wanted a powerful, pure #9 up top so can't really see him playing Martial as your main striker. Think he'd absolutely love Harry Kane but that won't be possible.

Martial isn't exactly like a Theo Walcott upfront. His hold up is excellent, he's got great strength and speed - more or less growing into the full package.

I'm hoping against hope that we get Pochettino and not Jose even though it looks like a given.

Martial would be fine as a #9. Costa's hold up is nothing special either.

The next few years is all about building a team around Martial as the main #9, imo.

In other words: I do not want Lukaku.

Martial, Rooney, Rashford, Wilson is a decent strike force - maybe replace one of the kids with a mid-level striker, but not a £50m+ one.

Isn't Martial more the kind of player who's better facing up defenders and running at them with the ball at his feet and using his excellent technical ability? As opposed to the classic #9 Mou prefers like Costa or Drogba who love making runs off the ball in behind and are always trying to beat the offside line.

Not saying one is more effective than the other but I'd be surprised if Martial is your out and out striker. Think he'll want to use him like he did Hazard to take advantage of his pace and trickery out wide. You'll get Zlatan or Lukaku as your #9. Or maybe he'll surprise all of us and use everyone on the Caf's favorite Rooney up top. He's always loved him!

If you remember when he played #9 earlier in the season before Rooney came back he was excellent. What he did/does lack is getting into the 6 yard box often enough but that comes with time. He is excellent with his back to goal and offer runs in behind and short and links up with players around him.
Main issue was and is that the rest of the support around him was poor and Memphis was absolutely dire at LW, so it made sense to put Martial there.

Stones and Barkley are currently more potential than ability, and I wouldn't have them over Mata and Blind. Baines is now a bit injury prone. Coleman and Lukaku would get in.
Rojo or Baines? I'd also take Barkley over Mata and Stones over Blind.

Incredible how every year people overrate certain team over ours. Fecking Everton is in 12th place, behind WBA and on par with Bournemouth, but yet lots of people here would gladly have half of their players in our squad for big money.

Think 5 would start in our 11 right now. Stones, Baines, Coleman, Barkley and Lukaku

Couldn't disagree more. Buy a £50m+ attacker and let Martisl Rooney Rashford fight it out with them.

Barkley has shown more than potential this season. Agree with the rest.

Jagielka is the better centre back than Stones and Blind and I reckon he would have a really good partnership with Smalling. He just doesn't look that good playing under Martinez but then I reckon Martinez could do a similar job with prime Nesta. God I'm sick of him.

Thing with Martial is, that he's good at both. He's skillful and has that magic in his feet when running at defenders, but he's also great at playing with his back to goal, or at least he was early in the season when he played as a #9. Ideally, we'd have much more quality in attack and hence when playing up front, he'd still see enough of the ball at feet in dangerous areas as someone like Suarez does, or Henry used to. At things stand, with the quality we do have, we probably need him at LW seeing plenty of the ball. It will be interesting to see how he develops, though.

Do you personally agree that five of Everton players could get into United's lineup?

My team would probably look something like this -

. De Gea
. Coleman Jagielka Smalling Shaw
. Schneiderlin Herrera
. Barkley
. Mata . Martial
. Lukaku

It has worked out as 4 but Coleman hasn't really been great these past 2 season, i put that down to the clown of a manager though as he always looks very solid for Ireland.

I would prefer Martial in the Neymar role (left side of a front three) with a proper striker in Lukaku at #9.

Shaw yes but talking just now. So your choices are really Baines or Rojo/Darmain. And Mata in that right attacking role is questionable with the players available.

Mino Raiola suggests PSG interest in Romelu Lukaku

According to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku’s agent Mino Raiola to Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG are interested in his client.

Raiola had the following to say on the subject:

“A lot is spoken about him in terms of Juventus, but pay attention to interest from PSG and Real Madrid.”

Raiola is the agent of Ibrahimovic, Pogba and Matuidi :smirk:

I always see quotes attributed to him every two or three days. The guy doesn't shut up.

People seriously would have Blind over Stones? Lol. I mean I know Stomes has underperformed this season but come on....

I don't know very well this player and it's hard to trust an agent like Raiola

The guy who oversells his client Pogba

Oh the guy is a shill no doubt and he was after getting Lukaku away from Everton from the moment he took over as his agent. He'd score lots of goals for you in Ligue 1 but I am not sure he'd get you were you want to go in the CL.

I'd rather get Ibra on a free for a season as that type of #9, while Martial, Rashford, etc. develop more.

Given Blind has been the better player by a mile there's no reason to see the logical choice as "unserious" and "lol".

Not for me Id take a quality centre forward and if Rashford or Martial is even better and secure the position all the better for us.

Need to take out Smalling from the team and then people will realize how Blind performs in the central position.

Yes, because while Lukaku was getting taught a lesson on Sunday by Blind, Smalling was mind-controlling him from a few yards away.

Damn, now i'm seeing things. I swear I thought i saw Smalling playing against Everton. My mistake.

If you can see, you'd have also noticed how well Blind played against Lukaku (one of the best strikers in the league).

Stones on the other hand gets dropped for Everton.

On these last 2 games, we should be able to get Lukaku for a "knock down" £50m
