And just as I am writing this Lukaka scores, but I'd have Rashford as my #1 striker with Sanchez and Martial on the flanks. I don't mind Mata in those positions as an alternative either.

Its not enough for a top striker for a top side. You need more than just to be able to put some goals past weaker sides. Today was especially bad in terms of hold up play. He'll probably go on to score a hat trick now, but I've decided I'm in the don't rate him bandwagon. He's not the right guy to lead our attack over the next 5 years.

Heskey was a miles better all round striker than this fella; his hold up play was key to linking the attack and midfield. Put Emile in this team, and he’d be bullying defenders and bringing Sanchez and Lingard into play.

I didn't know it's possible for Lukaku to play for us and score against us at the same time in 2017/2018.
Mkhitaryan did something similar earlier in the season when I literally wrote him off during a game - it doesn’t change my mind.
Fair enough. I think his hold up play has gradually improved and will continue to do so. Who knows where will be in 5 years time. Maybe Rashford will be simply unstoppable and force his way into 9 position in the next 2-3 years but for now Lukaku is serving his purpose - which to score against teams we failing to break down last season.
My prediction is neither has it in him to be the elite CF United need over the next 5 years. We will see a new CF in that time.

He's got 6 assist this season as well and at times has shown he has very good link up play. He needs more consistency in his game but it'll come he's only 24.
