This is crazy. I can't believe we are bidding for van Persie and Lucas. No money/value my arse, Fergie just doesn't value central midfielders... wingers and strikers is where it's at for him.
In terms Welbeck and Hernandez's development.
Because he's arguably the best striker in world football right now?
Before we had park / giggs / ronaldo and nani as wingers, but now 3 of those have gone. Now we have nani, valencia, young and ... insert 1 more.
That may be the case this year, but with Scholes and Giggs leaving next summer, he will have to buy at least two midfielders.
Ronaldo score 113 goals in all competitions in the previous two seasons.
That may be the case this year, but with Scholes and Giggs leaving next summer, he will have to buy at least two midfielders.
Or promote 2 from the youth.
Why will he? Scholes has retired already and he didn't buy anyone to replace him.
I can't see us signing Van Persie or even trying to when we're strugging to get rid of Berbatov.
Fergie should just make a call to Wenger and offer £20 plus Berba.
Well we're clearly trying.
Because we had Cleverley, Ando, Pogba, and Fletch in the mix at the time.
Next year we may well have Carrick, Cleverley, Anderson, Fletcher and Kagawa in the mix as central midfielders, as well as any youth players who may come through. It's far from a certainty.
Do not want.
I'll believe it when I hear it from Gill or Fergie's mouth. It's no secret that clubs fake interest from other clubs to try and bump up the price.
And the IPO!Wages and the transfer fee would be offset by money from winning the fecking Treble.
It's £25M without Berbatov, £35M with. That's way too much. More like £15mn with Berba.
It's £25M without Berbatov, £35M with.
We're the only club to've made a bid. Don't believe what Arsenal have leaked.. they just want a bidding war and us to up our own bid.
Basically, there's no bidding war at the moment.
I'm not sure there is a bidding war.
We've placed a bid for £15m, and that's been rejected. I'm sure his situation, and the length of his contract will come into play with our limits, and already has done with the bid we've tabled so far. Yes, he could still go for something like the suggested figure, but I doubt it will be anyone bar City going for him at that evaluation. He's not worth 30 million in his current situation, which is becoming increasingly desperate, and I don't think Arsenal can afford to play it as if he is.
It's £25M without Berbatov, £35M with.
Are we?
BBC, Sky, etc, get their information from someone. That someone may have an interest in mentioning our name.
Lord Reith died 50 years ago - they peddle the same old shite as everyone else these days.BBC don't post nonsense though. They generally only post concrete stuff.
It's £25M without Berbatov, £35M with.
would be surprised if this happened.
do we need him?

People have been saying this for about six years now, and every year one or both, usually both, are among our best players.
One year it will have to be true, one would think, but every year it's said so authoritatively and it's based on nothing.
Yes, but Giggs was slightly awful this season.
btw, the BBC website said that all bids were turned down, not just ours, although the headline was for Man United.
