Robin van Persie

Called Santos last year first, called Cazorla about a week and a half before anyone else reported it.

Sells official second hand training stuff on his site, knows people there. He's reliable.

My Gooner mate on Twitter has also just told me that this geezer is legit.

I just searched #RVP on twitter and each tweet is from a different ITK with a different story  I thought you lot were exaggerating when you go on about how bad it is.

We have a separate Twitter thread to keep the mindless spaculation out of these threads, so could we stop spamming this one please? I open it in hope of updates seeing as there's been three hundred new posts each hour, and then 99% of them turn out to be people quoting Football_Super_Agent_22345 from Twitter claiming that Van Persie is about to sensationally snub United in favour of Fulham.

I hate phrases like "it's likely"... I want sth definite! All this cock teasing does my head in

I agree.

That said, a quick search indicates that this guy is usually forthcoming with solid information.

It's difficult to say with any certainty.

What I can say is that I have it on good authority, from a solid source, that it is likely that I am legit.

I hope it's from your brother. He's very legit.

What's his take on the RVP situation?

I have it on good authority that this thread will get locked at some point during the afternoon.

That AFCAMDEN guy has been reliable in the past... But its still just 'likely'.
Deals can still fall through.

Only Wayne Rooney (82) has more goals + assists in the last 3 Premier League seasons than Robin van Persie (80).

If the two of them and Kagawa can form a working partnership

If he does come then I hope Rooney plays as deep as he was in the last game. I think one of the reasons why we can struggle is that often I don't think he drops deep enough often enough and so a gap between the midfield and strikers appears. Although I worry about his consistentcy there, just having him there will be a bonus.

Unlikely imo, by now everyone must know what the terms are, it's just a question of Arsenal accepting them. Which it is now looking like they will. It seemed always about them getting a significant enough fee to save sufficient face with the fans to justify selling him to us.

The fans won't be happy it's us, but i doubt City would ahve made them any happier. At least they know we have had to pay a significant amount to get him. From their point of view, nearly 10 years service and still getting back nearly 10 times what they originally paid for him. Got to be seen as good business in anyone's book.

To have a player as good as Rooney when Rooney is not fit/not scoring would make a major difference IMO.

Valencia - Kagawa - Nani
RVP

vs.

Welbeck
Giggs - Rooney - Young

That's seven amazing options with Giggs added too as an inside forward and used occasionally. I can see why we won't sign a CM, we've got Carrick, Cleverley, Anderson, Scholes, Giggs, Powell and even Petrucci/Lingard fighting for two places.

Cleverley, Anderson, Scholes, Powell, Petrucci and Giggs are fighting for one place alongside Micahel Carrick.

Nah, Fergie will play a lot of games with Scholes and one of the younger CMs. He's also been plenty willing to play Clev/Anderson together in the past and I doubt the 4-3 win over Hannover is the last time we'll see the midfield we started that game with.

Plenty willing? Cleverley and Anderson have started together about 4 times, when there was no real alternative, and while there were some good performances the opposition were in shambles, and our defence was badly exposed (I believe we conceded the most shots of any team in the Premier League in those games), much as it was against Hannover.

Do you have any confidence in the solidity of a midfield combination that doesn't include Carrick?
