If we exchange the words 'Arsenal' for 'United' in your posts, they seem reasonable. :D

It's a matter of opinion......why some of you people find it difficult to understand why fans of other teams may often disagree with you, is beyond me.

Insofar as my opinion of your chances of trophies in the coming season are concerned, they are in most part based on facts.

Who says he's unhappy? He's a professional and will act accordingly.

You lot have only offered £15m. If we force him to stay we save the extra money offered to him (£7m) on our contract offer.

Do you really think the extra £8m makes any difference?

This coming season, I'd say Newcastle,Liverpool and Spurs are more likely to be your rivals as you fight for 4th place.

The reality is that because of his age and injury record, Arsenal are in a much stronger position than RVP.

No offence but I bet you see dead people.

Fact is we finished on 89 points last season, same as the champions, and lost the league through a last minute goal for City. A year before we won the league and reached a CL final. On the other hand, you've not had a proper title challenge since 2008 and haven't won a trophy since 2005. Oh, and you just lost your two best players last year and about to lose your best player this Summer, possibly both of them if Barca want Song enough.

Facts are you are talking out of your arse and don't even believe what you're saying, unless you're absolutely insane.

You're like Pete, without the swearing. :D

More seriously, what you've written flies in the face of history. In no way do I think United are perfect but it beggars belief - and recent history under Ferguson - to suggest that United will be scrapping for fourth place...as Arsenal often do. I'm not even sure you believe what you're posting, mate.

I'm pretty sure by this stage it's either us or he's staying at arsenal. Just read that Juve made a bid for Llorente so I think it's safe to say that they gave up on him.

Like the fact that we finished on the same amount of points than City with a depleted squad? Stop speaking out your arse mate, it's one thing disagreeing about RvP, but why bring up other things in this thread if you are not trolling? You are permanently on a WUM!

Nah, Pete is sane. He knows well they're behind us at the minute.

Trophyless last season? First time it's happened since 2005, which oddly enough was the last time Arsenal won a trophy.

1 minute away from winning the league, lost on goal difference after half the team was missing through injury while the team who won it only had Owen Hargreaves missing long term..

Its amazing how people just write us off without engaging their brains.

I don't think they are based on facts at all, given how we've never finished outside the top three in the Premier League...

If Arsenal had any common sense they'd accept our offer and go for llorente

Owen Hargreaves missing. Where have I heard that before.:lol::lol:

you are just on a wind up Gil. pretty good reading though :)

Seriously, Arsenal will always be a force imo because they are a properly run club. Chances of the title this year? You lot will have to overcome at least us and City. I think you will be above Chelsea and Spurs for sure. I'm not sure about Liverpool. Rogers is a good manager....perhaps in a couple of years.

Also, Kagawa is as much of a strengthening to our squad as Cazorla is to theirs. Podolski and Giroud aren't as good as van Persie so it's not much of an reinforcement. You'd think they just signed Iniesta and Messi.

Agree.

Yes, at the end of the day we didn't win it, City did, but...

Vidic doesn't get injured = We win the league

We don't throw it away vs Everton = We win the league

We beat Blackburn = We win the league

It was hardly being totally outclassed.

I think Chelsea will be ahead of them if Hazard and Oscar meet the expectations. Spurs I'm not sure about but Liverpool will be a lot closer, that's for sure.

Zero chance for the title. Perhaps a good CL run might be on the cards if they realise they can't win the league soon enough and concentrate on Europe.

It's rumoured that RVP will captain Arsenal tomorrow...while Arsene sobs on the touchline and throws water bottles at Steve Bould.

Anyway, back to Van Persie......when's he joining us? ;)

He isn't. He's decided that upon reading Gillespie's waffle he's actually got more chance of winning something at Arsenal. Which is understandable really given how Gillespie is recognised to be the speaker of sense.

True- If we nick RVP too they will be really off the pace next year. They were a definition one man team last season.

Vidic back, fingers crossed Cleverley and Anderson can stay fit too- VERY long shot Fletch could be back.. We should have a very strong squad next year, whether we get RVP or not.

Can't argue with that - the '15 Years Straight in the Champions League' trophy is pretty big; it has to be, to fit all that engraving on it.

Signing injury prone players is too risky.

We signed injury prone players or players just recovering from injuries and it didn't really work out.

Hargreaves.
Owen.
Anderson. Still time though.

RVP is almost 30. Could be one more injury away from being a Saha.

Not worth the risk even though RVP is quite the striker.

I understand Ruud was signed after a bad injury but he was very young. Different story.

It would be worth signing RVP just to see Arsenal floundering without anyone to bail out their shitty defence after the inevitable chronic feck-ups.

You reckon that stat will hold for eternity?

Look, I think you were lucky last season to finish as close to City as you did. Most manc fans I know said as much and moreover saying the team looked weaker than it had for some years. You only have to refer back to some of the manc posted negative comments on here last season as evidence of that.

I feel your midfield lacks strength and creativity and that might be a better place to look for bringing in new blood than another striker.

Knee-jerk manc WUM accusation when confronted with contrary but sincerely held view..........well, shock horror

Lucky that our best defender was out for pretty much the whole season too I suppose.

We were far from great last season, but somehow should have won the league when we had the worst injury list in the league.

Can you name one league game that we were plain lucky to win last season?

knee jerk??

tell me how you are seriously going to beat the likes of us and City with that mediocre squad?

Not saying we will walk it. imo City will be favourites. But we have made some good buys and we will get a very experienced Forward soon :D

I wonder if SAF might try to offload Berbatov in this deal. Both older players coming to the end of their current contracts. Berbatov + 10m in exchange for RvP would be nice!

This whole thread is a massive 5000-post wind-up by Man Utd fans about signing one of our players.

It would sure that would come back to haunt us.
