Going by Gill comments i am sure we won't be bringing anymore players.Looks like a publicity stunt to me.

He's good at these publicity stunts. Nobody ever see's through them, especially not posters on the leading Manchester United forum. Everyone buys it when he says we're interested in other players, nobody questions his intentions. And it definitely benefits him/the club in some way. And yet, he continues to do it and we continue to fall over ourselves to snap up season tickets.

David Gill is an evil genius.

don't know why..I had this vision of us buying all these 'little' players....

do you remember the character in Blade Runner who is the only contact with the 'creator' of the humanoids?

He had these little 'people' greeting him when he entered his appartment...

I know its Friday....

why the '...' around 'people'? Are you trying to say little 'people' aren't really 'people'?

Harsh, and probably racist somehow.I know, not real people

Meh. Had to work through 5 pages of absolutely nothing. would fancy an updates only thread again. Then you know that there is every reason to get all excited when there are 5 new pages within 1 hour

Are you suggesting you aren't excited about the invention of HarryApp?

if we get him we will become much better team

How so? are you suggesting that buying absolutely top-class, PL proven player with international career who is atm miles better than his teammates from Arsenal - themselves a very good team would strengthen us?

Nah, he's a crock and had one good season

Why would it help the IPO? Why would exchanging a cash in bank asset for a player asset help the IPO? Why would prospective investors give a shit?

It is PR speak sensitive to the IPO, when the bollocks has Gill ever come out and said that we are trying to sign a 'few' players with 20 days left in the transfer window? It is a linguistic subtlety as part of a wholesale promotion of Manchester United as a progressively successful business. The share price increases with success, success is attained by playing personnel and investors seeing us consistently losing out on players to our domestic and European rivals surely cannot help investor perception of the club.

Admittedly I know little of the stock market and if I am wrong then I would be interested to know what investors look for when investing?

You know what?

The more I think about it, the more likely it is that notwithstanding Fergie's crude negotiating tactics, RVP will stay.

Though the reality of that will only become apparent after we string Fergie and Gill out for the next 21 days.

Well that's the 'Kept-your-captain-and-best-player-against-his-wishes' cup in the bag then.

Nah, he's a crock and had one good season

He has 355 career appearances, he's scored 154 goals and has set up 71 goals. That's almost a goal every 2 games. and and an assist every 5 games.

You don't get a scoring rate like that in 1 season.

That's impressive, especially considering he played as a left winger in the first 4 seasons.

He does have a pretty bad injury history, but the fact of the matter is he's a world class striker.

He is either going to City or United. Face facts. Stop behaving like a jilted teenage girl waiting for the phone to ring. RVP doesnt love you any more.
