I swear to God, you must be a parody account. Nobody - and I mean nobody - could repeatedly come across as stupid as you do on here.

The reason you're taking a bet on here - as oppose to on Betfair - is because the bet isn't about trying to make money. It's a sporting wager. You claim team A will do better next season, someone else says team B will do better. In this scenario the odds should - obviously - be evens.

If all you're worried about is a return on your investment, by all means feck off to betfair and find someone interested in the odds you're offering. If that gives us a break from your posting on here it's a win win situation for everyone.

Pray tell why a potential wager between me and Golden has anything to do
with you?

With Owen gone and Berbatov probably on his way out, there would be no harm in having another world class, experienced striker around for Welbeck and Hernandez to learn from.

Van Persie (29)
Rooney (26)
Hernandez (24)
Welbeck (21)

That's a fearsome strikeforce that any club in the world would be jealous of.

I can't see why people wouldn't want it, it would be deadly. Hernandez and Welbeck will still get chances. Top club's can't just rely on one or two to play every game anymore, we know that by now.

We had 4 top quality strikers when we did the Treble.
All will get lots of games if we should progress in all competitions while taking into account injuries as well.

Exactly. What if Rooney was to get a season ending injury early on? As high my hopes for Welbeck and Hernandez are, it's a big ask for those two alone to carry us for a season.

Whats the Cafe's obsession with age these days, any player over the age of 23 is too old and shouldn't be signed. It's really weird.

how about we simplify it

If United win the league you give me 20 quid
If Arsenal win the league i'll give you 20 quid

That's even worse value. Surprising how Pogue's criticism of me for rejecting a poor value bet deliberately misconstruing it to equate to a lack of confidence in my team could easily be applied to you given you appear to have rejected the excellent (according to Ciderman, anyway) offer of 5/2.

Anyway, let's cut to the chase. I'll be sporting and ask only that you give me odds of 2/1 instead of 5/2 (fantastic value to you) and I'll put a score on that.

Are you on?

It's funny really because up until the Sneijder business when this all started, everyone was crying about the club having that exact policy. Now it's been firmly adopted by the muppet brigade.

Oh I'm not bothered by such childishness. It shows I've won the argument if that's all he can do.

WON AN ARGUMENT!

Yeah it's actually mad the turn around. These guys should have a look at the ages we signed Yorke, Cantona, Sheringham, van Nistelrooy.
A lot seem to have this Wenger idea in their heads that a signing isn't worth it, if you don't make an end profit.
What about 5 years of goals and trophies? Is that not something to pay money for even if we don't get a fee back at the end.

But surely his £20/£20 bet was based on your original claim that Arsenal has a better squad than United? So, by assumption, you think Arsenal have a better chance of winning the title than United?

Of course I do, but why should that mean I should give stupid value on a bet to Golden?

My last offer was a very decent value bet.

Let's see how Golden responds......maybe he believes Arsenal are a stronger proposition for next season than Betfair odds suggest?

Funnily enough, my aim is not to wind people up. The numpties on here are more than capable of doing that to themselves whenever, it seems I express a view that doesn't accord with theirs.

You think that your squad is better than Manchester United's when your very best played wants to move north. You are deluded.

That's probably the very reason van Persie's having second thoughts about going anywhere.

My worry is splashing all this money on a striker who has only had one full season in the last eight.

It's not that black and white.
According to Wikipedia he's made over 38 appearances in a season 4 times for Arsenal.
And look at Rooney, he's had 3 large spells out in 3 of the last 5 seasons. People are too hard on Van Persie with this injury thing.

history don't seem to back you up does it? Even when City spent XXX amounts of money, they only won it in injury time .....

You may disagree with my view but that doesn't mean I am trying to wind people up.

You can't tell me £200k per week is not a factor in his possible going to Man Utd, yeah, yeah, I want to win trophies, blah, blah, blah......my arse!

You are deluding yourself. Van Persie isn't having second thoughts, it's Arsenal's management playing hardball which is normal. Van Persie clearly wants to join Man United, which is obviously a step up from Arsenal.

I have no words

Gillepsie, you haven't won a fecking trophy since 2005 (apart from the famous Emirates Cup). You bottled your last couple of title bids. Clearly Van Persie wants to challenge for trophies, and Man United is far better equiped to challenge for trophies at the moment.

Well you bottled it after we caned City to leave them 8pts behind , they didn't really 'win' it.

I think its a mix of both.
