It's because you need a lottery win to afford a season ticket!

Nearly 29? On mega money, and will be keeping Welbeck and Hernandez out the team! Bad business if we get him IMO.

And might help us win PL/CL titles, awful signing;)

You don't Rooney ahead of Kagawa is good enough? Judging on last year and so far in pre season Kagwa is looking like he could become our POTY. Think him and Rooney will link up brilliantly.

Not to mention Welbeck who performed well last season and is constantly developing.

Jesus, I'm starting to get wet.

feck sake, I'm gonna be sick as a flight to Lourdes when this doesn't happen.

Usually, rumours saying that we're signing someone are turning to be untrue... so it must be untrue... right ? :nervous:

We struggled to score vs "top teams" like Liverpool,City and Newcastle last season, adding more firepower can only be a good thing. Knowing how highly Fergie rates Van Persie he obviously got a plan to fit him in if United sign him.

Don't understand people saying they wouldn't be excited about signing him to be honest. I understand we already have a great front line but would you not be excited about a potential signing of Ronaldo because we already have Valencia and Nani?

For gods sake, I've taken the bait....

SSN reported there ..."a source" claims that he could be joining in coming days with MUFC first team all been informed today.

It's that MEN's article's fault. Papers and other sections of the media just want something to report on, whether it has or hasn't any substance matters not.

One more quality signing after him and I'd be a happy man.

Watching him play for us would be hugely exciting. But I'd be extremely wary of it going wrong.

If Percy comes, Berba goes. Easy.

Hmmm, not quite. Kagawa is already here, so that adds a forward who is getting games.

Moreover, Berba started 5 league games last year. So it isn't a simple 'one in one out' scenario as Van Persie will be starting considerably more. Berba didn't impact Hernandez and Welbeck, but Van Persie will.

You are getting rid of a player who started 5 games, for two players who will each be looking to start 30.

Not overly excited about this one. Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Berbatov, Kagawa is more than enough quality to win the league in my opinion.

Welbeck has great movement, but is not quite the finished article. Kagawa is a different option to to RvP. Hernandez was woeful last year and hasn't looked any better in the minutes he has played this season. Berbatov is on his way out of United.

An established goal scorer with Premiership experience is a rare commodity.

I don't want no stinking Van Persie at United.

A proven match winner in RVP is more than welcome at United. There are times in every season when Rooney is absolutely woeful and having RVP at such times would be massive.

Rooney got 35 goals last season and was scoring even when "woeful".

With Owen gone and Berbatov probably on his way out, there would be no harm in having another world class, experienced striker around for Welbeck and Hernandez to learn from.

Van Persie (29)
Rooney (26)
Hernandez (24)
Welbeck (21)

That's a fearsome strikeforce that any club in the world would be jealous of.
