Robin Van Persie - Were you happy we sold Jaap Stam?

All I can see is The S*n saying 'he will never see again', everyone else says he avoided a nasty one. Surprise surprise.

Ridiculous. Really pleased for him though. Bloody media and their bullshit.

From the Fener doctor (google tr):

Club Distinguished Prof.Dr. Burak Kunduracıoğlu, Robin van Persie "s health status and FB TV was found to explain. 37th minute of the match after the shock to the game after the Dutch player can not continue Burak Kunduracıoğlu about the health situation, said:

"He was blown in his position, torn in his eyelid and bleeding. After the first intervention, we sent an ophthalmologist to the hospital to intervene. After the investigations we learned that nothing important happened. Situation is good. We survived cheaply. We waited for the ambulance. If something urgent happened, it would be grave."

How the feck did they get ''HE WILL NEVER SEE AGAIN!!'' (assuming from both eyes by the title) out of a ruptured eye LID? Disgraceful, classless newspaper.

Aye. I think RedCafe should ban tweets or any other info from The Sun. Hate it that they get clicks aka encouragement to continue line this.

Sounds awful. He's always been such a great pupil of the game.

Was the Sun taking the piss with that tweet? Jokes don't get much cornea.

Happy and relieved for him.

Banning the Sun and Daily Mail.sounds like a stellar idea. Any idea if its implementable?

We could seriously do with a 2012 version of himself right now. Clinical doesn't even begin to cover it.
We have Ibra. Not scoring in the last game doesn't take away from his contributions this season. 18 goals.

Without those, we would be fecked even further.

His season was probably the best season we've had from a striker in the prem era, he was something else. Pity it took so long for him to shake off his injuries and also figure out the game.

I agree. I'm sure if we had say the RvP of Moyes/LvG or even Ibra in that team we'd not have won the league that season. He basically made us think we were a lot better than we were. Best striker in the world for me at the time...

Just knocked Besiktas out of the Turkish cup.

Furthermore, (from Reddit) Remember Ozyakup? Arsenal youth player, highly rated, was good friends with van Persie who he saw as his mentor and a senior outside the pitch. In fact he left Arsenal because van Persie advised him that a move away was in his best interests. Spoken multiple times about how he's indebted to van Persie and he looks up to him.

There was a match in the Turkish Cup between Fenerbahce (van Persie's team) and Besiktas (Ozyakup's team) today. van Persie started arguing and fighting with him multiple times throughout the match today, and then celebrated his goal by sliding right in front of him.

After the match Ozyakup said: "I was very good friends with a certain player. That changed today. Sometimes you see the real face of a footballer on the field."

Robin was always a bit of a cnut. Seems to have a habit of falling out with friends/former teammates on the pitch.

Loved him when he was our cnut, but couldn't stand him at Arsenal.

Its weird that while he has a nasty streak he wasn't really that nasty for us though was he? I don't remember too many flashpoints besides the Swansea one and that wasn't caused by him.

I can't remember many either. I remember a bit of handbags with Ryan Shawcross, who I believe he had a bit of previous with. I'm sure it was at OT as the players were coming off for HT.

Was he still a United player when he fell out with Memphis on international duty? It was the summer he was being sold, but I can't remember if he had been sold by then.

Think he may have been sold at that point, otherwise there would have been a glut of ''United at War'' ''Dutch Divisions'' and RvP argues with overrated wannabe'' type headlines in the press.

Yeah, looks like you're right. Although reading about it, it sounds like it was Memphis who instigated it:

This was the best one. Tim Krul was timewasting from towards the end of the first half, then Arsenal scored in the 95th minute to win 2-1. Robin rubbed it in quite a bit:

I have a vague memory of something happening at Anfield - I think it was the Moyes season, when I think he reacted to Gerrard or someone trying to throw their weight around, but I really can't clearly remember. I don't have much of a problem with a bit of nastiness in the side (within reason, obviously) - a team of push-overs does no good.

There must be more to it. I dont believe van Persie would do that without reason. They were already enemies before the game i bet, otherwise it wouldnt make much sense
