Robin Van Persie - Were you happy we sold Jaap Stam?

Whenever his left foot was raised to strike the ball , 99% of the time i knew it was going to hit the net. That is how i remember him.

RVP became quickly my favorite player in the entire team. That wasn't an excuse for selling Stam though.

Van Persie preferred over Lukaku?
Some people have very short memory. Either that or They're just romantic idiots.

Might as well bring back Vidic, Ronaldo, Evra. Bring them all back and watch how the club go down.

Wouldn’t mind him tbh.

RVP - Great player, great left foot and fantastic control. He knew where the goal was. Its a shame that Ferguson left when he did, I think RVP was promised that he’d have been manager for longer.

Japp - Solid as a rock and one of Sir Alex’s biggest regrets as a manger when he sold him.

Loved them both. Not sure what this thread title is about though.

I would rather have him than Lukaku.
I hope you stay in the newbies section.
So you were perfectly fine when we sold Japp Stam.?
Jaap Stams relevance is an unknown to anyone but Baby Groot, but he never came back to explain what he was getting at. He's banned now as well, so it's unlikely we'll ever know what point he was trying to make.

I think he was trying to draw a comparison between the sale of Stam, regarded by many as one of Fergie's greatest blunders, and the sale of van Persie.

weirdly remember him so often being injured for Arsenal but just googled it and in his 8 years there he played more than 30x 6 years out of the 8. Only managed it once in his first season with us and the last 2 less than 30. But that's my first memory of him. Great hope but should have done better overall in his career.

But loved him in his first season with us and one of my "one off" favourite players. Will never be a legend just because of the lack of time with us though IMO, loved but not a legend.

Banned for creating a crap thread title I presume :D

Another beauty by Robin for Feyenoord.

He might be old and his fitness might be questionnable but his technique is exquisite.

RVP with probably the deciding goal in the cup final.

So far almost all his goals since his return are beautifull.

He should simply retire after today imo, class will always be there but the body really isn't working that well anymore. Though I guess I should definitely add he could also still be useful for Feyenoord for at least another year.

How can he be so stupid with that brilliant nick? Baby Groot is brilliant!

I agree if he retired now he will have gifted us one more trophy and some memorable goals.

Just saw a stat that since his return he’s taken 8 shots resulting in 7 goals. Quite efficient :)

Happy he's having a good time in the Dutch league again. He looked pretty miserable when he went to Turkey lol.
