Norwich fans rather amusingly taunting Arsenal whenever Giroud misses a chance by singing: "He would have scored that, he would have scored thaaaaat, Robin Van Persie, he would have scored that!"

Dumb cnut stuff. It wasn't even very funny or cutting the first time let alone after 12 games. In every Arsenal game I've seen this season opposition fans have sung that.

He was fantastic today. Not just in there to score the goal either, his all round game was brilliant. Think he could be the player that see's this team wrestle the title back
RVP can whip in a ball cant he? Some cross for Rooney's goal. We need more crosses like that!
He scuffed it, looks like he was aiming for the back post to me but he got too much of his foot around the ball.
Who is a better finisher right now?

already looking forward to the Chelsea match next week.
Rooney and RVP up frot will destroy them.
And to think some people were questioning the logic in getting "an injury prone striker who is in his late 20's". We got him for only 24million as well, which IMO is a fantastic price for one of the best strikers in the world.

His technique is amazing. I always felt his best position was as a second striker, but his goalscoring record is second to none.Exactly. Someone like Falcao is 2 and a half years younger which isn't really all that much and is considered to be worth £40m+. Van Persie was easily worth the price we paid and will score goals for us for the next 3-4 seasons easily.
I'll tell you in a couple of weeks after I've been to OT.Pete, Do you still think that you have more chance of winning 'a big pot'? Hmmmmmmmmm
I don't think its worth starting a new thread, but purely based on ability where does everyone rate van Persie as a striker compared to others of the Ferguson era?

I said it when we signed him; when others were wondering what the point was: on his own he will win you at least 5-10 points a season. He's already arguably at 5-6.
