Just always seems to come up with something special, despite not being involved in the majority of our attacking play.

Today he's been involved in everything we've created. He's set up huge chances for Welbeck and Scholes, set up a goal, scored a goal, and that fantastic pass for Rooney who teed up Welbeck were him as well. He's been brilliant today.

Probably his best all round performance for the club so far. Hopefully he can keep it going second half.

Class is an understatement, his sweet touch of the ball is incredible. Amazing that probably the best finisher in the world also is an outstanding passer.

What is love? Robin Van Persie! Robin Van Persie! Paul Scholes.

Yeah, today he's been more involved in the build-up but in other games he's been largely on the periphery but still come up with something e.g. Fulham at home, Southampton away and Cluj away

What do we think about him taking corners? I'm asking, because against Newcastle my dad went on a rant about how the strikers should always be in the box.

Imo, you want your best corner takers taking the corners, and you want your best headers of the ball in the box, whether they're strikers or not.

You're right.

He's so classy, looks like he's really enjoying and thriving being part of this United attack.

It's been the first time since Becks left that we look dangerous from corners. Tell your Dad to hush up.

Behave. ;)

Point stands though, you're right...more than capable passer. He was quality all round today - he's been a top signing so far. That pass over to the right wing for Valencia =

Fantastic performance, just one Arsenal habit he needs to shake off imo and that's to be a little more shot happy around the area, sometimes tries one pass too many trying to set someone up.

Along with Falcao, Ronaldo and Messi probably is the best finisher in the world. Wouldn't necessarily say that he is any worse of a finisher than them three.

Who is a better finisher right now?

I always thought it was weird when Drogba took corners for Chelsea because he's such a huge threat in the air.

That's not the case with Van Persie. Obviously he can be, as his winner against Southampton shows, but he's not our biggest threat in that area so we don't lose that much by not having him in the box.

We'd lose more probably by not having him taking those corners as he's very good at it.

I think he is still about 2-3 notches below prime fitness and prime form...i cant wait to see that

Yep. Agree with that.

I'd like to keep it that way though. You don't want a player maxed out early in the season. Especially RvP. To sustain it till the end is impossible and would lead to an injury or exhaustion

 I literally had the exact conversation with my dad a few weeks back. Must be an age thing.

Norwich fans rather amusingly taunting Arsenal whenever Giroud misses a chance by singing: "He would have scored that, he would have scored thaaaaat, Robin Van Persie, he would have scored that!"

In every Arsenal game I've seen this season opposition fans have sung that.

Fantastic performance. The finish was superb and his cross was the best I've seen this season. I thought some of his general play and close control was really classy.

I just love watching him play for United, it's a joy to watch.

I can't believe he's ours and whats worse is I can't believe there were people against the signing of van Persie!

We needed another world beater in our ranks and we've got a Robin that is determined to win championships and has a great attitude along with it!
