Arsenal are more likely to win a big pot than Man Utd. He can count his £250K a week the mercenary cnut.

Haha good one. You haven't for a long time, why on earth, given recent history, do you think your wafer thin squad has a better chance than United of winning something?

On another note - I said from the second RVP said he wanted to leave that SAF would be in for him and people thought it was ridiculous.

All those people who said 'we don't need him' - what horseshit. We always need worldclass players and there is a tendency to overrate our players too much on this board.

He is already our best player.

Indeed.

Press quote: "I think it is the first time we have started together, we were both really pleased with that. We did it together."

Actual quote: "I think it is the first time we have started together, we were both really pleased with that. But we are all doing it together. Chica played really well today, we have Danny, we have lots of good strikers so we all do it together."

Even when he's reported as classy. He's actually even classier.

It's still a bit surreal seeing him genuinely 'loving' it at United..

Great to see him score a brace. That second goal was a great bit of skill.

His interview where he said he wants to provide more assists as well was good as well. Hopefully he can continue netting goals and starts providing for the others at the same time as he wants to.

It's completely shit. Arsenal develop him and support him through 6 injury-hit years and he runs his contract down to leave on a reduced fee.

Kinda ironic that you complain about a player you nicked from Feyenoord in the exact same circumstances. Feyenoord valued him at £5 mill - you got him for about half because....he decided not to extend his contract

Does anyone think he's kind of static compared to how his movement was at Arsenal?

Or is that just me? I just feel that he looks less agile...

Through the eyes of Peterstorey

At Arsenal: Van Persie is God!

Signs for United: What the feck, he is injury prone, getting old and has only done it for a season and a half

Van Persie bangs in the goals : you stole him from us, a mere 25 million!

I see the logic...

I don't think we have the same movement as Arsenal had around him yet!

I still don't think he's totally match fit- his sharpness will come the more he plays. The guy is a goalscorer though and is doing the business.

:lol::lol::lol: Yep they will be red hot favourites until their annual spring bottle job when Wenger will shit his pants and the squad will all get serious nosebleeds at being so high up the table and will collapse to just hold on to fourth, bunch of screaming pansy bottlers

Scoring goals without playing particularly well so far. Things are looking good.

That said, it's internationals next week... :nervous:

I honestly think it's the way we play. Arsenal play the ball through the middle so much better than us creating miles more space for him to run in too.

It's disturbing how fecked we would've been without him so far this year. Such a quality forward.

oh ffs, he played one good game after three shit games. He played some good games, but we would probably do better without him in some games too.

No 'ffs' about it. You've gotta think who we'd be replacing him with and the role he's been playing/goals he's been scoring. That wasn't really meant to be a 'we're shit' post, though...more paying tribute to how lucky we are to have him. It's been a bit Van Nistelrooy 04/05-ish so far in that he's got us points when we've not played well, even if his overall game hasn't quite been there yet.

Get used to a conventional striker who doesnt come deep everytime. If we dont give him the service, he wont be doing much. There's nothing 'shit' about it.

He has the ability to contribute more in terms of creating chances for others. Van Persie topped the goal assists leader board with 11 assists in the 2008–09 Premier League season. it depends on how Sir Alex chooses to use him.

I am not expecting him to play as a midfielder, but I expect him to play better overall, nothing more. But he is doing fine, no worries, it just buggers me to see posts like that, when it's obvious it's not like that.

Ofcourse he does. But with Rooney too in the team, RVP might be asked to focus more on getting at the end of things. In any case, once he gets used to the team and vice versa, his impact and overall contribution will definitely improve.

I think his marginal participation in certain games has more to do with our own labored build up and static play than him having a poor game. We're guilty of moving it around far too slowly at times.

It's not obvious, because every game we've won this year has been in context of us playing pretty shite if we're being honest. Pretty much every single player has been out of sorts. The difference has been having a player like Van Persie scoring the goals he has. That's not to say he's been amazing, but I seriously doubt Hernandez and Welbeck could've made up for us not having him and Rooney. It's not like either are looking like nailed on scorers or creators at the moment (no disrespect), so I don't know how we could've switched system to compensate.

It's all assumption, but I think it pretty reasonable to suggest that, without Van Persie, there's a good chance we'd be in some trouble at the moment (fecked - not long term, but at least in terms of our place in the league table). Maybe others would've stepped up, but it's not looked like that sort of season yet.

7 goals and 2 assists in 7 starts, better start than most would have hoped for I guess.

Played the full 90 last night and topped off Holland's 4-1 victory with a clinical finish.

A lot of people exptected it.

His last 2 seasons have been Messi and Ronaldo esq in terms of goals per game.

Not the first time he's cheated on his wife if true.

One consolation of this: at least it's going to be easier to make puns out of Robin's name than it was in the Dog Breastfeeding thread...

It's better he buys a prostitute than pick up some random chick, who ends up accusing him for money and 2 minutes of fame.

Oh dear :/

Not this prostitute shit again. This addiction seems to be affecting our strikers at least once a year. Time to sack Phelan.
