Leave it, you can't have a sensible discussion about Zlatan on an English forum. Obvious statistics are not enough to convince some people, he is easily among top five strikers in the world, without the slighest doubt in any shape or form.

Top 5 yes, top striker no way!

If you're having a full blown discussion about Ibrahimovic then take it to one of his threads instead of the Van Persie one.

RvP left in changing rooms after first half so hope he will be fine! Chilling in front of TV after 10k run in 51min not yet Mo Farah though!

Something on twitter about an upper leg injury. Would be typical.

Well it's hardly surprising.

Is Hernandez travelling with Mexico or will he be fresh?

We could be stuck with Hernandez and Welbeck for our next couple of games at this rate. Not good when we're potentially missing 2 of the best strikers in the world this early into the season.

We need to get RvP "injured" every time an international break comes up. This is ridiculous. Why couldn't Van Gaal just started the way superior Huntelaar instead.

Hopefully its one of those "international" injuries that seem to heal once a club shirt is put on.

Well we will need him plenty of times to play twice in 4 days throughout this season. So cannot blame the dutch

Na I doubt it. They were only a goal up and he's competing with Huntelaar for his place in the starting eleven.

Robin van Persie taken off at HT for Netherlands game because of a possible muscle injury to his left thigh.

Need him for Anfield at least

Well it could be a precaution as well. Or maybe simply tactical. Van Gaal did drop RvP for Huntelaar in the international last month.

And Huntelaar makes it 4-1 so maybe it was indeed tactical. Huntelaar is a very good player too.

It's because they refuse to acknowledge the fact that he can be injury prone. Two games in four days wasn't very wise. Need to manage him better.
What worked in his favour this time last season was Holland had all but qualified for the Euros and Wenger had an agreement with Van Marwijk to sit out the friendlies.

Might just be a complaint from Van Persie, not to aggravate anything. Likely he will sit out the Wigan game; if the team can't get three points at home this Saturday...

Give up already, it wasn't tactical! Unless Van Persie was having the mother of all stinkers and did something to offend Van Gaal, you don't to haul off your senior striker at half time. That, coupled with widespread reports that he was injured.

They were already 2-1 up and RvP had played 135 mins over 2 games already and Huntelaar (5th in the all time scorers list for Holland) was on the bench so isn't it just slightly possible that Van Gaal wanted to try out something different?

Louis Van Gaal: "We took off Robin for precautionary measures. It doesn't seem to be too serious. We didn't want to take any risks."
