Speaking of Falcao, he has already scored against Uruguay...not bad.

Is he the best striker in the world at the moment? Must be there or thereabouts

Second center forward in the world. Leo is the best but almost everytime he is excluded from these lists. He is mentioned only in comparisons with Ronaldo.

Messi is that good that people exclude him as a given. I think Falcao might have an argument to challenge RVP for that second slot.

Welbeck and Hernandez would have some nice numbers if they played in Serie A and Ligue 1 too.

That is such a huge load of shit that I can smell it all the way from Singapore. Welbeck doesnt even have half the current ability of Ibrahimovic. In fact, the latter was a much more accomplished striker at 21 years old with Ajax.

Typical RedCafe.

And we laugh at RAWK when we have such beauties on here.

Football fans are great, when he was at Arsenal we saw him a crock and an injury waiting to happen, with just one great season of football. Now he's here we're saying he's one of the best, if not the best, striker in world football. :D

Typical oversensitive posters when their favourite players are talked about. Obviously Welbeck and Hernandez arent nearly as good as Zlatan. But look at the likes of Giroud and Borini, very well respected strikers and goalscorers in the two leagues.

His goalscoring wasnt nearly as good in Spain and neither would it be in the premier league. So 32 goals in 35 games in Italy and France needs some perspective.

Serie A may have some weak defences, but Welbeck had a plethora of chances go a-begging last season, and Chicharito would require his team to be tailored to his needs; i.e. a secondary striker to load him up with opportunities before he'd score plenty (through balls and the ilk).

Serie A isn't the sunday league it's often made out to be on here. I doubt there would much change in Welbeck and Hernandez goalscoring record if they moved over there. Zlatan would tear every league apart in his current form and it's a myth that he had a bad season at Barca.

What is wrong with 16 in 23 starts? Borini is hardly a goalscorer. Giroud has had one good season in Ligue 1. Zlatan has ripped every league apart in which he has played in. Barcelona didn't even play to his strengths whatsoever, and he hardly fitted in yet look at how many he scored.

I know you dislike him but even you must realise that you're talking bollocks.

I sort of dislike him off the pitch for some of his farcical behaviour like kicking team mates, but on the pitch I look at him objectively like anyone else. Even Suarez who I detest, but like Ibrahimovic, is a really good player and I wont say otherwise.

The problem is people comparing him to the likes of Van Persie who have done great things in one of the two top leagues. Ibrahimovic hasnt and now never will and its not because of a lack of talent or anything. Just his mentality and perhaps work ethic. This is what I'm talking about as a myth. Zlatan is one of several players who when they are playing well, people go over the top about.

Anybody else get the impression from his goal against Southampton and that one from Holland that he's worked on his movement in the box from set pieces? Maybe took a few lessons on how to find space from Hernandez in training. Maybe I've not watched him closely enough, but I don't remember him finding space like that at corners in his time at Arsenal.

Is Zlatan considered the best strIker in the world now? Based on his Serie A record alone? Or his stellar CL / international record? Zlatan is finished at the highest level

It's just banter, if none of his teammates gets upset about it then why should you?

Serie A isn't that bad to be disregarded like that. There wasn't that much of a difference between the leagues last season, as showcased when the Milan side spearheaded by Zlatan knocked out Van Persie's Arsenal in the CL.

Sergio Aguerro also deserves a mention in the best strikers discussion along RVP, Falcao, Gomez and possibly Cavani

 Bilbao knocked us out of europe. And of course they are upset by it

Leave it, you can't have a sensible discussion about Zlatan on an English forum. Obvious statistics are not enough to convince some people, he is easily among top five strikers in the world, without the slighest doubt in any shape or form.

He's just not better than Aguero, Tevez and Rooney. So no he obviously isnt up there with RVP and the man of the moment Falcao.

Nobody is disputing that he's among the listed. But to say he's 3rd most outstanding striker behind the last two is madness.
