He's saying all the right things and keeping his head down and focusing on his game. Very surprised at how well he has conducted himself.

Really looking forward to how he will continue linking up with Carrick, Scholes and Kagawa.

top, top player. can't wait to see what him and Rooney can do when he comes back. With Kagawa and Nani/Valencia up top as well we should be a force going forward

Gooners for ya, you have to fecking laugh

Cheaper than Wenger.

great start to his united career so far.

and the good thing is that his teammates are creating chances for him as well. last weekend he had something like 7 or 8 attempt on goal himself, which was a massive improvement from the one chance he has against fulham.

cannot wait to have robin and master wayne on fire.

I have to say he does come across as a very intelligent and humble person in his interviews. Quickly becoming one of favourite players, not just for his performances on the pitch, but his whole attitude and personality. Valencia is another one with a fantastic attitude. No hint of arrogance about him, just humble and fantastic work ethic. A wonderful team player.

Well he changed a lot in the last few years personality wise I think. He came across pretty arrogant during his first years at Arsenal.
The last 2 years he has become really likable though. Great post match interview.

I always say van Der Gouw, after our most famous Dutchman.

I thought he had more of a temper in his younger years, he seems to have mellowed considerably whilst still retaining some bite in his game to go with his immense talent.

Season after season? Those seasons where he was injured for the majority & inconsistent on top? I expect you'll defend him now he is your player but lets not try to make it out like he was some poor guy who has been stuck at the club for years and only now got out. Arsenal & Arsene Wenger did a lot more for him than he did for us, one good season for us doesn't change that.

I think now that he plays for your team you'll see and appreciate how clinical he is. He scored a lot of goals for us last season and missed a lot of sitters on top! I think some here are expecting him to be a lot more involved but last season he was like this for many games, non-existent and then one chance and he'd score.

So true. Last season for example, he missed a sitter against us at the Emirates, and then 10 minutes later scored from a much more difficult angle.

Seems like a decent lad too.

He has always been one of my most admirably player in Premier league outside United, especially last season, alongside with Silva.

So now this thread's in a bit of a lull, I just want to get the Caf's thoughts on his injury record. Do we know if he has a recurring problem with his ankle? It was the reason why he missed a lot of 09/10 and the first few months of 10/11. He hasn't broken down majorly for over 18 months now, so I wonder if this is a sign that he's been more unlucky than anything else.

I am so impressed with how he has conducted himself in his initial interviews which probably comes from him being a more mature signing of ours. Without trying to offend arsenal, he does seem like a little kid who has finally realised his dream of playing for a top team. Really deserves to stay fit and I think he can become a huge player for us

I've said this somewhere already on here but I may aswel throwit up again, I'd spoken to a few die hard arsenal fans and they all had heard that last season with injuries he asked Wenger could e only be treated by the Dutch medics and voila he's doing alright the last while. Maybe it's methods used by the medics at le arse, I don't know. It's interesting nonetheless.

He'll be playing tomorrow for Holland won't he?

Maybe, maybe not. The new Netherlands coach Van Gaal prefers to play Huntelaar from now on. So Van Persie has been benched for the national team (thank God).

So perhaps they finally corrected that ankle problem? We'll see how it goes and if Fergie insists hes treated by our staff - our track record isnt brilliant!

I hope that you are from Turkey and that RvP is not injured!!

Yes sorry, I'm Turkish hence the :(

Decent game between Holland & Turkey actually, a bit harsh that we're a goal down as we've been the better team.
