Class act in his interview with the comment about Paul Scholes.

Liked his interview a lot - instead of focusing on the hattrick, he thinks about the penalty and wants to improve that. Thats the spirit

He changed his mind last minute and said "feck it, I'll put it in the goalies hands and score in the 92nd minute instead".

He is the best in the league isn't he?

Probably the best 'out and out' striker in the world.

Winding up my mate on Twitter who's resorted to the old, he'll get injured, and the, you're a glory hunter vibes. Good laugh.

Jamie reckons it looks like he changed his mind.

About 5 minutes after RVP said he changed his mind.

Good to see him being hard on himself for the penalty... it was ridiculous and he'll learnt from it.

I don't think there are many footballers who could miss a penalty that badly and then go on to score a hat-trick... it shows fantastic mental strength and character. Well done that man.

Not sure what I think about this but a lot of people say if a foul is committed against one player, he shouldn't be taking that penalty;
Some stats would be interesting on this subject, if there is correlation between success and not being victim of the penalty foul

I must admit, I was thinking all sorts of shit after that penalty regarding how his season would go. Like you say, amazing mental strength.

I remember a Young Van Persie fighting our young players in a Carling Cup game. I think it was Danny Simpsons he nearly headbutter, it was around the center line towards the right sideline. He was so aggressive then, kind of Alan Smith in his young days as well. I wanted him in our team then.
I did not want him this time around because of our dare need in midfield but he will do for now.

Great thing about RVP is some players would've shrunk having missed a penalty like he did but he simply brushed himself off and got on with business. You need more than just talent to play for United and today Robin showed he's got it in the head as well as the feet. For me he's now the man.

Needs the Jaws soundtrack...

Yeah.. Still cant believe we actually signed Arsenal's captain.. Never thought it would be possible.

Best striker in the league if not in the world at the moment. Him and Rooney up front when he is ok will be something special.

He then claimed the third goal was the best, 6 minutes after RVP said it was the best, despite claiming the first was the best earlier.

 I thought he had but couldn't remember whether it was him or Le Tiss who'd said it about the first one.

Mr Ferguson: 'What present did you get me for my 1000th match, Robin?' Van Pursestrings: 'The worst penalty in United history, Boss.

I want to die.

Responsible for the first ever United goal i have no recollection of ten minutes after the event.

Never crowdsurfed a celebration at a football game before.

Just listening to RVP on MUTV. I like this lad, he is so disappointed with that penalty. He has high standards and is a perfectionist. I love that.
