It still feels sort of unreal. I guess I need to wait and see him in our shirt this evening to realize that he his playing for us.

Well in that case i wonder what the ronaldo deal "really cost". ha

80 million plus 11-12 million a year.
Say he stays for 8 years = 90 million plus 80 million = 170.
Resale value say 30 million after that = 140 million over 8 years.
¬18 million a year.

RvP's the same

Very strange from Morgan, someone is his position shouldn't be talking like that. And they wonder why football isn't as "sweet as the Olympics"... shakes head.

Quite bizarre, I'd be angry if Rooney joined Arsenal, but I'd keep that shit off social media, what a strange strange man.

You mean "same bitter, petty detachment from objectivity as always from Morgan"?

For those fiddling themselves silly with the propect of RVP and Wayne playing together tonight I give you this:

HAPPY ***PING

That's brilliant.

Particularly enjoying the hilariously inept finishing from assorted Arsenal players that will need to share the goal-scoring burden in his absence.

FFS, why didn't we just sign Ronaldo?

 I already picture RvP playing like that amongst Cleverley, Kagawa, Rooney, Welbeck and the likes.. This team is going to be brilliant if they're able to gel.

So Ronaldo will be worth £30m when he's 32? His games heavily relies on pace and strength, he won't keep both until his 30s.

I know theres some serious sitters in there.

If this whole thing does gel we could be devastating. Just imagine if we never let go of Ronnie too, Christ on a bike imagine RVP being flanked by Rooney & Ronaldo.

Mobility, technique and class.

Come back Ronald

Somehow, I don't see Ronaldo not being Madrid's best player when he's 30, 31 or 32 or 33.

Keep him for 10 years. 12.5m x 10 year wages = 125 million. Plus 80 million fee. 205 million over 10 years.

Still only 20 million per year, and that's assuming you get no fee at the end.

Rvp's costing us 18 million quid a year; plus we're getting him between ages 29-33, rather than the ages of 23~33 which is far more 'prime' years.

The 2 million/year difference is easily made up by commercial deals (I.e. How marketable is he) etc.

Oh, and finally.. RvP is a few rungs below Ronaldo. Enough rungs to pay 30 million quid a year for transfer + wages, easily, especially for a club of Madrid's calibre. They fecking splashed another 15-20 million a year on Kaka, and splashed 30 million euros on Coentrao's fee. Zidane was rather old when he got his 75 million euro transfer too.

We got RvP based on the fact he was 'too good' a signing to miss out on if he was available; screw the 'value' over the deal. Surely Ronaldo would be worth far more in terms of the 'GET THAT LAD HERE' type of 'value.'

Ronaldo's ended up being a mint deal for Real; the amount of goal's and star quality (i.e. Position is nailed, no worries about the LW position, no injuries, scores more goals than any STRIKER in the planet bar Messi, 2nd BPITW etc) is easily worth the amount they've paid for him. 20 million a year for him; even if they flog him off for zilch.

Ronaldo is a freak of nature. He will definitely keep them going. Look at Drogba.

He will keep it going because he works unbelievably hard to be the best he can be. It's no coincidence his injury record is so low or he can play 60+ games a season on a consistent basis. He looks after himself.

There are players in world football who are as skillful as Ronaldo....but will they work like a fecking beast to improve their game like he has? Probably not. He's got an incredible dedication and determination to self-improve and maintain what he has.

I dont think hes in as a great a shape as 09, He's more muscle and power now than back then when he was a combination of pace and power with rediculous ability to beat a man. He rarely takes people on nowadays. Still a beasht but not the one we had in 09.

Frustrating to see so many sitters being missed in this video, we need a decent strike partner for the Dutchman. - 9 months ago

That'll be Rooney - 2 days ago.

I'm guessing RVP will start on the bench?

Can't wait for tonights game now, really exciting way to start Utd's season

That's what I was thinking while I was watching the video.

A video was posted a few days ago of all his goals for Arsenal. His finishing was impressive. This video shows that his passing is also very good, it's a trait of his game that I must admit I hadn't really picked up on. I always thought he was a selfish player, seems like that isn't so much the case. Some of those passes are really inspired but the finishing is woeful. Get those through balls into Chicha's path or Rooney's, and they won't be missed.

Just can't wait to see him play, I'm so excited by the possibility that the forwards will gel and play really well together. Even if they don't, he'll score goals and do well, but if a bit of chemistry can be developed, then good luck to other teams' defences.

Rooney is never going to move to Paris mate.

RVP RVP
Arsene's throwing a wobbly
we've got Nick, the Jap, Nemanja's back
our trophy's coming home
Robin is a manc and Kaka's on loan.

I don't think a lot of people on this forum picked up on his passing ability. I remember during the Rooney vs RVP threads, a lot of people were quick to downplay RVP's playmaking abilities. Whilst Rooney may be better at it, theres no doubt that RVP is also very creative who sets up a lot of chances for his team mates.

If Rooney and him click.. it will just be wow.

Bought the game for 6 euros. Can't wait to see him feature. And Kagawa.

He should have started, nice to have a cracking left peg and a set-piece threat in the team.

20 minutes of preseason, about 8 years of being crocked and he still looked fitter than Rooney and Anderson.
