From the beeb:

More from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson on Robin van Persie's imminent move to Manchester United: "He is on his way up from London for a medical later this afternoon. We hope that goes according to plan. His agent is in discussions with David Gill [United's chief executive] right about now.

"We hope all the things will be tied up, although sometimes medicals do take a bit longer. I am sure he will be available for Monday's game.

"In 1999 I had Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the four best strikers in Europe. We are going towards that now with Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney, Robin, Danny Welbeck and Shinji Kagawa.

"It is a fantastic collection of players and hopefully I pick the right combinations."

Interesting he did not mention Berbatov. I think we all know he is going, but I think this confirms it.

Kagawa and Van Persie. One potential world class player and one of the best strikers in world football. Can't get much better than this.

Nice to see the boss mention Javier.

Yes Sir, you also had the best midfield in the world.....

I can't believe I missed all this.

What's better signing RVP or killing Piers Morgan's remaining brain cells.

So we can stop worrying about Danny signing a new contract as well, unless Fergie mentioned him with the intention of selling him in the next few days.

They go hand in hand. We have performed the classic act of two birds one stone. However, Piers Morgan may not possess any brain cells at all which may cause my theory to fail.

I suspect the press are all over Bridgewater today.

Press release with photo's tonight?

Is this Christmas?

I'm so excited to actually seeing pictures of RVP actually going into Bridgewater  How fecking sad am I.

Van Persie after his first game for United: "So, this is how it feels to be a winner, not bad."

Would hope/expect Van Persie will be really respectful to Arsenal when he does speak as a United player or first time. He knows he'll get stick but will be classy and probably do the same kinda tribute to Wenger as Fabregas did.

I certainly hope so. I expect departing United players to act that way so I see no reason to not expect the same of new arrivals. I also would think SAF would insist on it.

played will with that little ginger chubby kid didnt he? who himself wasnt a bad footballer

Yeah the ginger ninja was deadly back then...which is why using the 99 squad to support an argument is just silly. We had one of the best centre midfield duo's of all time. (not to mention football itself has come a long way since the days 442 ruled the roost).

Keane with tackling, drive, stamina, ball retention
Scholes with vision, passing, long range shots, runs from deep
Giggs with pace, dribbling, ability to beat a man
Beckham with crossing, free kicks, long range passing

Such a perfectly complimentary midfield

Let's not forget, as good as that duo was in 99, it was often broken up in order to play Nicky.

This still hasnt sunk in.
There is still time for this to go a full Ramsey on us...
and the agent might demand the dreaded 6m :nervous:

What the feck are we talking about the midfield from '99 for?

I suspect we should get those over-the-sheet/under-the-sheet bridgewater hospital pictures soon.

Or as I call them, porn.
