The guy was motivated by a four year deal for his peak years at a club which was going to win the most trophies during that period.

We'll wait until 2016 to see whether he made the right call.

You should probably wait until you've won even one trophy before going down this line!

I can't even remember if he was around when you got that FA Cup in 2005, but nothing after that, and he won the league with us straight away, so his decision has long been vindicated.

Arsenal fans are still amazingly bitter, but the most irritating thing they say is that he came here for more money. When even the least knowledgable fan would know City were in for him as well.

I agree with that. If he spends his remaining top years at a club in transition, he probably would have some regrets.

Of course, this is all in hindsight. At the time, he made the correct decision in joining United. You can't predict things like managers leaving.

I can hear Pete cackling in the background. :D

Jesus christ. The management of his fitness has been criminal. Plays 90 mins after being out injured for a bit - what did you expect Moyes!

Its been apparent since day 1 of pre-season RVP had concerns about the training. He's managed 2 years of consistent football by managing his own fitness.

Moyes clearly knows better.....

Maybe this is what the reported problems with the coaching staff has been about...
Sorry but, like him or not, his fitness has been poorly managed this year. And it's down to the inexperience of the coaches imo.

Sorry about the strange angle on the video... but you can see it here. The way he lands his feet after taking the corner just looks wrong. One of those when perhaps you don't think anything of it at the time but the problem only comes to light after the game.

Cannot blame our coaches. If we do, those at Arsenal were to be blamed as well.

He's been pretty much injury free for 2 years, scoring more goals than anyone in that period. Suddenly under new management (who admit they overplayed him whilst unfit) he can't get to full fitness? Nope can't even look at the coaches...he's clearly just had a relapse of being a sicknote.

Player who has a history of sustaining muscle injuries gets a muscle injury and it's Moyes fault. Christ lads, I'm not his biggest fan either but have a bit of fecking sense.

We'll never know if these injuries would have happened if Ferguson and the previous coaches were in charge. Nevertheless, rushing him back for the Newcastle game was unwise. People will use this as another stick to beat Moyes with. 'Dinosaur training methods' and whatnot. Maybe this was what RVP was unhappy about.

I guess this was always the risk when rushing him back from injury and playing him for 90 minutes on his return. Time for other players to step up.

I think it's more so the fact he openly said he overplayed him despite the fact he wasn't fit to play...because he was worried people would question him.

That Dutch cnut on Twitter was right. I said at the time when I saw him in the Newcastle match that I didn't understand why he started granted that he was clearly rushed back and had only took part in one full training session. Especially when he's coming back from a muscle injury. It was stupid at the time and I bet that Dutch cnut is laughing his head off now.

It actually was Moyes' fault and this is coming from someone that likes Moyes but it was a big mistake from him.

Well....With Welbeck's inability to score, Hernandez not scoring, the annual slump in Rooney's form coming up and players like Kagawa and Nani seemingly unable to step up and of course the blackhole in midfield, we are in serious trouble here.

Don't expect us to be anywhere near 4th or near the leaders come the end of Christmas.

Unless.....Unless, Fellaini is played up....Actually I don't even want to say it

He didn't get injured in the game he played 90 minutes in, he got injured in the game he played a cameo in, that he wouldn't have played if he wasn't fit to play. He got injured by tweaking a muscle taking a corner, much like the variety of other muscle injuries he's had down through his career. Trying to use this as a stick to beat Moyes with goes beyond retarded.

I echo this. Even Michael Owen struggled with our genius backroom staff.

If ye bother to look it up, we have the same Fitness coaches since 2007/2008. So with RvPs recent problems, he'd still be dealing with the same fitness coaches as last season. I'm sure they'd also address any concerns of the training RvP goes through also if he is this delicate at the moment.

How else could you train for his dinosaur football? :D

Worst possible time too as the games will come thick and fast. We need maximum points from our next few too. Kagawa and Hernandez will have to step up. Either that or we'll have Welbeck on the end of our chances.
