 at Arsenal fans moaning about him celebrating.

After that celebration it's clear where his allegiance lies. We gave him the chance for success and he's really hungry for more. Arsenal fans must be sick of the sight of him :)

We've missed those match winning goals from him. So it's imperative our strikers keep firing us back up the table.

Well-taken header for the goal and great hold-up play from him today. I still fill that he's yet to recapture his indomitable form of the last few seasons; hopefully he'll gradually regain it soon.

"Oh Robin, you're a cnut"

*RVP celebrates*

"OMG, feckIN BASTARD, totally uncalled for"

He had that sort of smirk on his face that he was glad it was only 1-0 because he was now regarded as the matchwinner and the difference between the sides.

Clearly heard the "she said no" song on TV. Can't really complain about the celebration.

According to some Hernandez should be playing instead. Not in a month of Sundays.

Not just the goal, but his defensive work was top notch as well. Both forwards put in a great shift.

He was outstanding. Surprised people don't have him down as their man of the match. His hold up play, control in tight spaces was stunning, he tormented the arsenal defence today. And he won us the game. Amazing performance.

Loved it when he ran back all the way to tackle Arteta for the Rooney chance. His commitment is outstanding.

Need a few gifs of his hold us play. Loved some of his work upfront today.

God forbid we ever sang that back in the day. Great celebration though. Fantastic.

That's the thing. Arsenal fans were chanting about him all game and then they have the cheek to complain about his celebration.

We are football fans. We are fickle and two-faced whatever club we support.

Has anyone else noticed that whenever he celebrates a goal he usually runs in perfectly straight parallel lines? So much so that it is seems a bit unsettling and robotic. Also he has one of the best slides ever when he chooses to employ that too - even, solid and always really unnervingly straight. I mean he's a hero and everything don't get me wrong, but his celebrations are disturbingly perfect. Too perfect

Aye, he's great at celebrating is van the man.

Said a few weeks back it was ridiculous how some people began to start criminally under rating him, even calling for a spell with him on the bench. Given what he did last season, which was one of the greatest individual seasons by a united player. He's top class, a true world class player.

To be fair he has had a slow start to the season. But he said it himself, he felt a bit more beat up and wasn't 100%.

I reckon he'll have an excellent run through xmas which is always a good time for a player to come good.

Don't think anyone has written him off, more just acknowledging that he hasn't been as influential as he had to be last season and that's purely because of three things: Constant niggly injuries, our results and Wayne Rooney.

yeah i never thought people had written him off, just under rating him. he had a very small run of not playing or not scoring when he did play and quite a few expected him to be left out which i just felt OTT given how good he actually is.

Was bloody brilliant today! Reminded me of the goal he scored against Soton to see the comeback last season.

Oh and suck on that celebration you vile spewing gooners.

Did it come off his shoulder? Not that I'm arsed like, but was just wondering.

Delighted to see a player finally celebrate scoring against their old club. I hate it when people claim it's 'disrespectful' to celebrate - it's disrespectful to your current club not to!

I reckon he'd smack in around 40 goals a season if we actually had some top wingers for him to feed off.

I still think he can score 40 this season... even without a lot of chances he can still score like today. But yeah he could score even more with better service of course.

I had him down as our 4th best performer today... some of his close control and turning away from defenders was awe-inducing... and it was a cracking header for the goal.
