I loved the table tennis game between Rio and RVP.
I've always adored this man. His dribbling, touches, shooting. His professionalism, humility and work ethic. His grey hair, interviews, cereal-box head, his face everything. I have a very serious man-love issue with him.

As soon as our season finished, he went on tour with the Netherlands, didn't he? So probably getting more of a rest along with the guys who took part in the Euro U21s and the Confederations.

Hah, two/three years ago you can quote me as saying "fecking hate the cnut. He can go and get fecked". I used to have heated discussions with a good mate of mine who is also a United supporter about the legitimacy of his class. He would always say 'come on, don't be silly. RvP is class you're letting your hatred cloud your judgement'.
I hadn't spoken to him in a while then the news broke that we signed him and I sent him a text that just said 'feck YEAH.' in it and he didn't know what I was on about. He immediately said "hang on feck off you hate him? Now you're saying its amazing that we've signed him??" It's an interesting insight into supporting football. By the end of the season we were both gushing about the unbelievable levels of class the guy has. I am so fecking happy we signed him.

Hahaha, I have to say, I am surprised to find that I am one of the few to have liked him throughout his career. I always thought he was considered one of the nice guys, until he signed for us & I read the reaction on here! Interestingly enough, though, i've only noticed his dirty side (cheeky elbows, temper, very occasional bit of petulance on the pitch) since he has come here, despite having followed him at Arsenal. I can't say I don't like it!
I think I am saying this for the first time on this board, but, I was one of the people against his signing! I thought the guy was undeniably class, but that we needn't strengthen up front & that his arrival would destroy one of Hernandez or Welbeck. It's safe to say, I have been proved wrong. He really made the difference. Just take a look at the marquee signing thread - Van Persie has had an amazing effect on this club this year, not only with his goals and skills. He has a certain aura about him. I'm absolutely over the moon we have him, too.
