Apparently park was voted Motm in a match in Asia once where he spent the whole game on the bench.

Now he has his trophy I would like to see him assert his greatness on the Champions League stage. Hasn't reproduced his best form in the knock outs for us or Arsenal.

Robin van Persie says David Moyes has only made Manchester United more hungry
The Dutch goalmonster is happy for other sides to underestimate the reigning Premier League champions now Fergie's gone
Robin van Persie has warned there is no way Manchester United will be vulnerable following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
The Red Devils are entering unknown territory starting a season for the first time in 26 years without Fergie in charge.
But Van Persie, whose 30 goals last term helped United to a 20th title, said the players were relishing being part of a new era under David Moyes.
And the Dutchman, who scored in United’s 5-1 friendly win over the A-League All-Stars, said Premier League rivals should still fear them even though Ferguson has retired.
“Yeah, of course they can think what they what to think,” said Van Persie. “They may think that.
“It doesn’t matter to us. What matters to us is the way that we work. Trust me, we will work very hard. It’s a huge challenge to all of us and it’s one we’re looking forward to.
“Everyone wants to be successful. Moyes wants to be successful. He’s been working very hard and he’s spoken to every single player individually.
“It’s his first couple of weeks so let’s get to know each other. It looks very good. Moyes is very nice. He works very well. It’s only based on a few sessions, but I loved them.
“It’s different [without Ferguson]. Of course it was a great season last time. It was my first year with him and the first year at the club I had with him.
“It was a great year for the club and we all did great things together. But now it’s a new year and I’m very much looking forward to it with a new manager and great new staff.
“For now we have the same players. I want to win more this time. The club wants to win more.
“Last season we won the league and that was great, but this time we want to win the league and more as well.”
Manchester City having signalled their intention for the upcoming season by investing big money in new players and Chelsea have done the same, as well as bidding for United striker Wayne Rooney.
United have yet to make their first signing under Moyes, despite making a bid for van Persie’s former Arsenal team-mate, Barcelona midfielder, Cesc Fabregas and preparing an offer for Tottenham’s Gareth Bale.
With their title rivals having already strengthened, Van Persie knows United must do the same this summer if they are to stand any chance of remaining at the top of the pack.
“Yeah of course we have to improve to stay ahead of them, because over the last few years the English league has become better and better,” said Van Persie.
“Every single team has got harder to beat. When you go away you have to perform 100 per cent otherwise you may lose.”
Persie joined up with the United squad in Australia on the second leg of their tour and has been doing more training sessions than his team-mates to catch-up in terms of his fitness and sharpness.
He came on for the final half-hour in Sydney but made his mark immediately, providing the delivery from corner for a Danny Welbeck goal and scoring himself with three minutes left.
The Dutch striker, 29, justified United’s £24million outlay on him with his remarkable goal haul in his debut campaign and insists he has no fears about matching those exploits this season.
“No, not at all, no,” said van Persie. “I only see chances. I don’t let things get in the way. I want chances every day, every session, every game. I just see big opportunities.
“I still have more years left and it’s not like I’m saying ‘Yeah we won the league so that’s me done’, because I want more now. It makes me even more hungry.
“I was very hungry last year but now I’m more hungry. We have a great bunch of players so we can win more and do better.
“I always try to do better than the day before so, yes, I can do better than last year.”
Van Persie said he was never fazed by the scale of his move from Arsenal to United and declared his success in his opening season was down to his refusal to be overawed.
“You have to be positive,” he said. “Yes, it’s a big club and we all play a part, but we can only do that if we are prepared to take our chances.”
United play Yokohama F-Marinos on Tuesday before taking on Cerezo Osaka on Friday, before taking on Kitchee FC in Hong Kong, the final game of their tour, next Monday. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-tokyo-robin-van-2072460#ixzz2Ziei0aM0

I hope he plays as long as Giggs does..

Even if his legs go and he is useless, just keep him in the squad and get him to give interviews every week.

Goalmonster . That fecking weak foot finish was absolutely sublime even after missing the one on one. "Rushhty..." class act.

What I felt when he scored that Villa goal was unreal  It's too good of a goal

I was in the pub with a few friends, and I was quite drunk. Some of them were United fans, some weren't football fans at all. When he scored, I shouted so loud that the non football friends jumped out of their seats. They had never seen anything like it.

Pretty much sums up what I did, 'cept I don't have a downstairs and no mrs at the time. Sheer disbelief... That's a cartoonishly awesome goal.

He must love that sort of service. He's played with some excellent midfielders feeding him excellent passes at Arsenal - Fabregas, Wilshere, and those balls from Song that he kept scoring from in his last season. But he'll never have enjoyed long passes of the quality of those two from Rooney and Giggs.

In terms of final ball, the passes you are talking about, Im not sure there has been a player better than Fabregas since the PL began.

He played some incredible balls, his assists record says it all.

He definitely makes different movements thought depending on who has the ball and has admitted as such. You notice him suddenly come alive when certain players receive the ball in midfield.. it makes me think of a rabbit pricking up it's ears

Wrong. I'm talking about long passes, as I said in my post:

Long passes can be final balls.. surely you are talking about long ball assists, and not simply long balls? So final ball.. right?

Anyway, I guarantee he had some marvellous balls from Fabregas. And those deep long ball assists there has probably been no ome better at (in PL)

Anyway.. its not something worth debating. But he definitely got some brilliant service before United.

Yes, but you just said final ball, whereas I meant exclusively long pass final balls. Just wanted to make sure you knew I didn't just mean nice assists in general.

I agree that Fabregas is one of the best 'long assisters' in PL history. Nonetheless, you won't find a single ball from his entire time in the league as long distance, perfectly flighted and supremely accurate as that one from Giggs. A foot further to left or right, forward or back and RVP can't take that in his stride the way he does. Any flatter and the defender heads away, any loopier and the defender/s get back between RVP and the goal before he can collect the pass. Any less backspin and it outpaces RVP, any more and it forces him to check his run to collect. I've just watched a compilation of Fabregas' passing, and despite the surfeit of riches, there's isn't a long aerial pass assist as good as that one.
