He'll score even more goals this season IMO. Look at Drogba for example, he was tearing up the PL in his 30's.

It'd be a different story if he relied on pace like Torres or Villa did. But he doesn't.

Different kind of player to Drogba but I do agree he will age well. His game relies on intelligence and movement and he excels because he is a great technician and great finisher. Those talents age well.

He has certainly aged well already. He was quite pacey in his younger days, but that wasn't really what his game was about. He looks alot slower now, but he's still world class without any real pace.. He reminds me of Le Tissier in that sense. He has a way of just walking the ball to where he wants it. His control and dribbling are both sublime. I think he's got a good few years left in him, unless he gets a bad injury. That would be a stinker.

I think a underrated part of RvP's game is his quickness of thought, his reaction and the speed over the first few yards. He's virtually always first to loose balls etc. His reading of the game is exceptional.

Its obvious he's going to age very well. Just like the last Dutch Arsenal legend!!!

Rooney will struggle in comparison especially in his mid thirties Id say.

Thought this was a cool photo...

That's really impressive stuff. Had to save it.

Definitely he took the piss for the goal versus west ham being behind by a few yards. He was no slouch in the build up to the volley against villa. When he needs to he can Get going as he's well able. Hopefully he hits 30 goals again this season. If our wingers function he could score a shit load. That left peg of his is restinkulous.

Such a sexy man.

''I believe in this time, I'm not being funny. We are the champions, but we are 3rd favorites, why? I don't care though, I believe in this team''

Unlike some *koff, koff* Wayne 'let me go to Chelski' Rooney.

Genuinely loving Van Persie. As some have said Robin really is our 'talisman'.

Wasn't involved too much throughout the game but still managed to score twice. His first goal was excellent.

He genuinely seemed angry at the suggestion that we're third favourites.

Still can't believe we signed a player of his quality from one of our most bitter rivals. Another unbelievable performance by RVP. He just makes it look so easy.

In fairness, he should be angered about suggestions we are third favourites.

Chelsea and City have hardly improved enough to be us down there and we are still the same side who won the league last season.

As much as I want United to sign a midfielder, there is no way we should be described as third favourites.

But we have lost the greatest manager ever, so that has to count.

I understand why some think this season may not go so well.

What on earth is the thread title?
....
Manchester United's Robin Van Persie is in Angola to see landmine clearance work by a charity championed by the late Princess Diana, the charity officials said on Sunday.

The HALO Trust said Robin, 30, was touring minefields that remain from Angola's brutal 1975-2002 civil war, as well as meeting beneficiaries of the charity's work.

The Dutch striker is also visiting the remote southern Angolan town of Cuito Cuanavale, believed to be the most densely-mined town in Africa, the charity added.

A spokeswoman declined to give details of when he arrived in Angola or how long he was staying, saying he was on a private visit.

Oh. I just thought that he was playing a game about mines and that he was bragging on twitter than he went 829m in

His attitude really impresses me.

The guy's 30, he's just won the golden boot and pretty much dragged us to the the league title last year. He could so easily take the attitude of, "Y'know what? I've done all I need to do, and even if I hadn't, then I'll just keep playing the way I had been." Instead, his reaction to scoring a headed goal today was, "I didn't score enough last year, it's something I've really worked on."

Professional, through and through. May make up for Scholes' retirement a little, in that regard.

That header was genius. His second goal was good too in that we'd been working ourselves into decent positions only for our forwards to tippy tappy it around the edge of the box, never looking to shoot. RvP gets it in a decent position, has a pop and it's 2 nil. I wish more of our players had that kind of confidence in front of goal.

Anyone else see him taking over as captain if Vidic becomes less of a regular in the next year or two?
