I don't think anyone thinks he's playing well so give it a rest about grasping the context of a conversation. PM me if you want to drag this out any longer.

He scored a couple of good goals in the intenationals, so how's he out of form?

Lack of service and support is the biggest problem

Nah, I'll leave it thanks.

Glad we can freely admit that he is indeed out of form though, it's like getting blood out of a stone with some people.

Don't think his form has been that good since just after the turn of the year, we really missed Rooney today.

Oh wait...what about when Rooney is shite? Swings and roundabouts lads. It may feel like that but who knows what Wayne you'll get these days.

Has anyone mentioned his defensive contribution in United's penalty area during corners and free kicks? I'm sure he'll have saved us a few goals over the season with the amount of balls he wins.

Yeah, I think it was mentioned couple of times.

Goalscoring form or is his touch and overall play really that bad?

Goal scoring form is clear for everyone to see, touch and control aren't too bad but things arent happening for him naturally IMO, everything's a little too forced at the moment. I think his 'drought' is playing on his mind a little, probably just needs a goal or two to get his full confidence back and starting playing instinctively again.

There's a good post by feed me I think on the previous page which sums it up nicely.

I still don't get why he was rested on Monday. We have no CL games left where Fergie feels he needs to rest his important players. Why not just let him play?

I see. Interesting take. Thanks for not being smart with the reply.

Because he played 80 mins on Wednesday for Holland and then 90 mins on Saturday at Sunderland?

Yes but RvP obviously has had his injury issues so it's smarter to rest him a bit. And he was never going to start both this game so I think Fergie chose the correct option with playing him vs Sunderland.

Haven't been impressed with him today, but that was a fantastic free kick he put in then. Always a threat with them set pieces.

Great free kick but must be frustrating for him feeding off scraps of late.

Played average compared to our team... which is crap. His corners were awful for some reason. Great free kick to set up the goal but apart from that, meh.

He looks really leggy to me. A week off for Chicharito might be just what he needs.

He's looked that way for ages but SAF has come out and said he doesn't need a rest. We would have surely rested him by now if he did need one. I guess it's just what he looks like when he's in bad form and low on confidence.

I really hope he can find his scoring form again, we really need his goals this season especially since Rooney seems to have gone missing at the same time. We can compensate one of them being in bad form but not both.

If Robin van Persie doesn't score in his next game, he'll equal Fernando Torres's longest goal drought for Chelsea.

Is this right ?

The comparisons made my people here with Ronaldo when he was scoring at the start of the season look hilarious now.

Not saying he isn't a great player but we were getting over the top here.

Not having a midfield to support him or handle pressure doesn't help him either.

Tbf he's hardly had a chance created for him since the Madrid game.

If Young hadn't fecked up that pass against Sunderland he'd have scored by now.

I dont think so, didnt Torres go like 20 games or something or was that only in the league?

I would still rather have RVP than Torres, even on this form.

"Fantastic" is something Harry would say, like he does about every footballer. RvP was decent.

"van Persie was absolute fantastic today" - Sir Alex

He was good yeah.

He can't take a bollocking then, like that guy Sir Alex wouldn't criticize at Aberdeen (from his book, forgot his name.)
