Why would Giggs be annoyed? Signing RVP means he no longer has the greyest head of hair at the club.

Why would Scholes be annoyed? He still has his trees.

I wish Rene wasn't so opinionated, sometimes; that interview kinda gives the impression that we're totally reliant on RVP's talent.

I liked the truthfullness of that interview, and I shared many of his views. Funnily, if you had said that on here last season though that we are perhaps not good enough and needed another world-class attacking player, I'm not sure what reception you would have gotten!

Comprehension fail.

I don't know why you keep opening this thread, Storey, it's borderline self mutilation.

That goal against Wigan where he switches the ball to his right foot then immediately shoots is fecking class!

Great vid.

I was gutted for him that his headed goal was ruled offside on Wednesday night.

The music makes that video really good too. Just the music running in the background and the commentary is so much better than just throwing in songs.

Yeah same, it's at the point now where im disappointed if he doesn't score. Great player some of those goals are top class.

His first goal for us. Against Fulham. The way he adjusts himself to get a volley on the left foot.

If you are talking about adjusting his body, then his goal against Stoke is also included. The way he just opened his body and let the ball come onto his left foot and just guided it past the keeper. What a player!

That's how you make a YouTube video. Goosebumps.

I'm willing to bet that the average Madrid supporter's first thought about playing us is not 'their defence has been very on and off this season and they're conceding far too many goals'. It's not 'they still lack a really world class central midfielder', or 'their wingers are yet to find consistent form.'

It's 'feck, they have RVP.' At least, if they're sensible that's what they're thinking. With him in the side, anything can happen.

A slightly more up to date youtube vid of every RvP goal so far

Excellent video there mate!

just the memories of so many comebacks, goals against the big teams, and cracking strikes.
And we're only just half way through the season!
bring on tomorrow and hopefully goal 23.

Best player in England, a match-winner who elevates the play of those around him, he can be the telling difference in securing our 4th European crown, fingers crossed

If that's the case, what on earth should we be thinking? Have you forgotten who plays in attack for them?!

Apparently v.Persie is our new Penalty Taker. Rooney didn't want them anymore. (Sorry if that's been covered already)

I need to admit, i wssnt expecting him to make such an impact.

This suprises me a bit. I know often fans are always less inlclined to give a player from another team their dues, but Robin van Persie is literally playing no better than he did last season, or even the season before that.

Don't get the huge suprise in his form or that he is 'this good'. He came here as the best player in the league!

Well obviously we should be shitting ourselves. I'm just saying it's a two-way street, we're hardly toothless.

Does anyone know where the "ooooh _____" chants originated from?

I'd always assumed it was the famous riff from the White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army'. EDIT: But just realised that's a pretty recent (in football chant terms) tune, released 2003 or something like that I think. How old are those chants?

first time I noticed the tune being used for a chant was by Italy during WC 2006.

There was an article at the time where Jack White said he was honored that fans were using his riff.
