Just want to live in the past for a while, that quote is just too damn good.

Best player in our squad you reckon? Certainly the only one who can consistently make something happen multiple times in a game AND in almost every game. Just needs to have a bit of luck with the bloody crossbars/goalposts!

Was proper up for fight too, which has been missing in our team for a while!

Hope he and Chicharito starts against Newcastle and then him and Welbeck against West Brom. He's class.

When we're struggling to create I'd like to see him drop deeper more often because his link up play is fantastic and he's always capable of making things happen. Brilliant footballer.

A frustrating day for him. I thought he looked sharp and impressive, but he just had a partner alongside him who was having an absolutely terrible game. Unlucky for him today.

He's been unlucky all things considered. Each time he hit the post this season it's been through some amazing efforts.
He could have had the goal of the season tonight

fecking love that nasty streak he's got. Doesn't take shit from anyone.

On an aside, how many bloody times has he hit the woodwork this season? Must be about 5 or so times.

Would have stood and applauded if he had have KO'd Williams and gotten a straight red for it. Absolutely intentional cnut act to kick the ball at him while on the ground.

The only one with great technical abilities out there today. First touch is brilliant, can beat players, shield the ball perfect passing. A shame that our other frontment today were seemingly drunk

Aye brilliant. We need a bit more of that in our team.

Though i dont think he was particularly nasty, kicking the ball to his head was quite bloody cnutish.

The rest of our attack was so poor (well, Young was decent enough) that passing to them was utterly pointless. For that reason I would've liked him to try a few more shots instead of passes even if they were the better option. But that's hindsight and not a slight on Van Persie's performance, just thinking what could've been.

Brilliant today, held up the ball well, played it into Rooney about half a dozen times only for Wayne to completely destroy all his hard work.

In terms of general play, that was the best I've seen from him at United. Brilliant at shielding the ball and bringing others into the game. Didn't deserve not to end up winning.

His hold up play and skill under pressure is consistently excellent. Not quite as clinical as he could be at the moment but he's just an amazing player.

Brilliant player. We need the rest of the attack to gel around him (Rooney and the wingers).

Would Arsenal have been better off if they forcibly kept him and Song? They would have been in a much better position in the league, probably have held a 1st place in their Champions league group, and be in the semi finals of the Carling cup.Isn't that all worth the few millions they got for the duo?

Does seem odd to see him taking the corners, but probably no better option, and is fine when out defenders are getting on the end of them.

The evidence of Southampton away though makes you wonder if he'd be better in there.
