Noticed that he always almost misses the easy chances and scores the difficult one.

What goes unnoticed here is his defensive work- wins a lot balls when we defend crosses or set pieces.

This. Think he is being given a free role to clear the ball, and he is doing it brilliantly.

The chip? Don't be silly. A player of Robin's caliber would've scored that one 8 times out of 10.

He'll end up being a United fan by the time he finishes his career.

Agreed. Although really he should just have taken it past the keeper as it came down. A doddle for someone like him, and there wasn't a defender in sight.

Has anyone seen his post match interview? because there are some "quotes" floating around on twitter and I can't see any verification

I don't see why it's stupid. Granted it will pass off Arsenal fans but as United fans we should be loving a player saying things like that.

Cheers, cant find any videos around. Would be a great quote if true though.

I just can't imagine him saying it. But wouldn't be critical if he did!

He genuinely seems to love his football at the moment. I was correct when I said he'd end up being a fan.

It'd piss the gooners right off and rightly so. Personally, i'd like it if he said that but it'd be a case of too much too soon too..

It just sounds like something Tevez would say.. Sucking up to the fans for no reason.

He is great. everyone loves him and he is playing very well. He doesnt need to come up with bs like that.

And its also a bit twattish. Arsenal were very very good when he joined them. They gave time when he was injured too.
I understand why he moved.. but coming up with quotes like that is totally unnecessary..

Anyway. Its almost certainly made up. Twitter is decent at making shit up... and van Persie isnt that much of a cock.

I hope he didnt. That is just stupid.

No it's not. People exaggerate how inflammatory comments by footballers are because the vast majority of what they say is the usual coached post-match bullshit. 'I'm happy to score, but it's all about the three points.' 'They played really well, it was a good match.'

RVP is one of those rare footballers who is intelligent and articulate enough to not require media coaching, and who gives natural, genuine answers. He's interesting to listen to. But he does stand out from people like Rooney as a result, and comments which in any other field would be seen as nice asides made in the flush of victory are treated as some sort of big deal.

If rumours are true, and he means every word?

I'm with prateik on this one. That quote is far too Miley Cyrus' diary-esque.

If rumours are true, and he means every word?
If the quotes are real, then I guess it'd be a lengthy reply trying to explain why I wouldnt agree with them.

I'll save it for now as I'm fairly sure it isnt.

How twattish was "I listened to that little boy inside of me, that boy was screaming for Man United"?

Jesus. It's not twatish at all. He's probably having a whale of a time with us - he's loving life at top of the table, and he's found a fantastic strike partner in Rooney. Yes it is a tad cheesy, but twatish? fecking hell.

Quite a fannyish comment IF he said it, which he almost certainly didn't.

Bit like when you and your missus say daft, soppy shite about each other. It's nice for you two, but everything else is outside vomiting their bollocks up.

United player says he loves the club.

Gets called a cnut by United fans.

RedCafe.... bloody hell.

Him being happy here and him saying he's now a United fan are two completely different things. He clearly is happy here, he's playing great and getting heaps of praise because of it.

Pretty sure he's a boyhood Arsenal fan though? I doubt that'll change any time soon regardless of how much fun he has here.

Bramble got slammed by MOTD for allowing Van Persie to go between him and the other defender for Rooney's goals, but that was top class stuff irrespective of the defending. Fantastic composure when so many other players would've just blasted it across goal.

There was another moment in the first half which was gorgeous. Difficult to describe but it was just typical Van Persie. It was when he received the ball to the right of the box about 30 yards out and elegantly turned a few times with players around him to take control of the situation. Made it look so easy, he's so good.

when he did that it looked like the ball was glued to his foot, that's when he passed it to Valencia on the wing right?
