In his earlier career perhaps but in the last 24 months his fitness record is actually Brad Friedel-esque.

I dont think you can really describe someone's fitness as being Brad Friedel-esque after 24 months. The whole point about Friedel is that he has managed it over a much longer time horizon. Staying fit for two years is actually not that much of an achievement, a lot of players manage it. And neither would I say RVP is out of the woods yet with his fitness - though admittedly it is looking good that he has managed to last so long. I am cautiously optimistic for him.

TBH given all he has done for us already this season, even if he was out for a few months this season it would still have been a great bit of business bringing him here.

Yeah, but it's a bit like saying "He was a mastermind bank robber, until he contracted AIDS"

Or something....

Seriously though, his fitness levels has been quite remarkable... though I still have a nervous breakdown if he stays on the floor for longer then 5 seconds...

This was classy.

The kind of silly handbags that go on behind the refs back. It's entirely Toure's fault too. Silly billy.

Its like saying, "he was like a marathon runner for the first 100 yards."

Strikes me as a bit meaningless.

Nothing like that at all, he's been injury prone in the past, but has been improving a lot lately.

Stop updating this thread in the middle of the week when mobin has happened you fecking cnuts!!!!

I keep opening thinking 'feck he's injured isn't he?'

Is he really injury prone or was he just extremely unlucky? Don't know what type of injuries he had... Were they recurring types?

Gotta love the fact it's stopped now. Knock on wood.

Never realised it until he came to us, but RvP has a rather mean and dirty side to him

He's always had that Bergkamp thing about him where he takes no shite. What a lethal player he is always feel we will score with him and Rooney in the team. Just wish we could have a world class midfielder and we'd be rocking.

Anderson

 You are too gullible mate! I knew that would get you.

:nono: Lay off the Ando hate. If he does a Van Persie and stays fit ( even I can't see it) he would be great.

As for VP - lets not talk about injuries and jinx it!

I'm not hating. I'm baiting.

Are you being serious?

I reckon if you'd had a poll on here before we bought him, the majority of posters would have said that RVP was a bit of a nasty cnut. Not that it bothers me in the slightest now of course, I quite like having a character in the team who has a bit of a fight and dig about them. I certainly feel like we've missed a Keane-like character for a while now.

I was actually just commenting during one of our recent games to my mate that I sort of miss the days when Rooney got stuck in more. Whilst everyone cringed as he chased back a player who had just dispossessed him, waiting on the inevitable lunging challenge, it almost always lifted the team and the crowd. We always commented, "he'll mature out of that one day", but I feel like he misses it in his game a little.

We saw exactly that from Rooney against Chelsea, resulting in a free kick that Mata buried!

Perfect example of a 360 fan admiration turn around.

Absolutely loathed the cnut for the two years prior. Thought he was a megacunt wum on the pitch and would have taken a swing at him given the chance.

But look at him. How can you be mad at that? He's absolutely stunning... On the pitch and he has surprised me by giving his all and giving everything for United which I did not expect. After we all looked at rich clubs throwing money at megacunts so they can sulk and have tiffs with their teamates we get Van Persie who instantly says 'I am looking forward to playing with Wayne Rooney and working under SAF'. That kind of class is not indicated in his fee.

A 360 turn around would result in the same opinion that you started with!
