I think RVP's got a lot more in his locker than people give him credit for, he's much more than just a goalscorer.

Agree just think Rooney has a bit more no shame in that and i'm certainly not disrespecting RVP he's pure class.

RVP has actually created as many oppertunities for teammates as Rooney has this season. The problem is that he's also our main goalscorer and he cant be on the end of the chances too. RVP's passing and crossing is yet to be fully appreciated I feel.

I totally appreciate it already.

His link up play with Rooney especially is really great.

He is just such an elegant player, everything he does just looks so easy and graceful.

It's always great to watch him on the ball.

Our Robins also been very unlucky, had a perfectly good goal not given versus Reading and feck knows how many times hes hit the post/bar.

Scott Sinclair and Tits...sorry, his girlfriend too.

Is it on in London?

Why are a bunch of footballers attending xfactor?

There was a point in the 2nd half where RVP and Rooney were both supposedly penned in against the line and a couple swift one-touch passes and flicks and they'd shifted the ball across the pitch to Carrick. My Dad and I just chuckled at the incredible composure and understanding they both have already.

Remarkable footballer; his chest flick for Young was very, very difficult to get right and he made it look effortless.

yup...sent him on his way. the camera angle from behind hart really showed how perfect the whole thing went down.

Haven't bought a United shirt for a while, I'd purchase a van Persie shirt if it wasn't for the table cloth design. With my luck he'd probably request #9 the following season.

Get the white kit, it's a beauty and will last two seasons.

feck me he is good.

He has so much discipline positionally.

His first touch is insane around the box in such tight situations. His turns are majestic.

Berbatov has the touch and ability to turn beautifully but can't do it at pace like our RVP.

I can't believe we have him. Still seems surreal

Just me who thinks the white kit is worse now? The gingham one has grown on me massively.

£20m ish for Van Perise, what a bargain in today's mad transfer world.
Surprised a team like Chelsea weren't in for him.

Mature player, proven goalscorer, versatile. His technique has been the best in the Premier League for years. Could play behind the striker and still have an influence.

When I asked my Chelsea mate why they didnt sign him, he said he was too old.

Van Persie will win us the title.

On top of everything else, he must have the best chest-control in football. Or maybe equal-best with Ibrahimovic. At least two sublime ones in this match alone. Combination of incredible strength and guile to hold off several players around him, composure to keep his focus on the ball whilst doing this, and incredible touch to get that soft contact which drops it perfectly onto his feet (or into the path of a cantering Ashley Young, as the case may be).

And he's so consistent with it. If you see the ball dropping towards him, you know it's going to stick.

His chest down for the first goal was immense. Still a lot of work to do after it but that's what initially started the goal so it was very important.

He's fantastic. I'm going to get his shirt next season because I just purchased Scholes'

EDIT: Let's not forget he put Young through a one on one situation as well.

Delivers in the big situations, its all we can ask from him. Got a bit lucky with the free kick, but was unlucky with the great bit of control and shot that lead to young's disallowed goal.

Played a big part in the lead up to the first goal, with some quick thinking to keep young's run going.
