Only ten contacts with the ball for 66 minutes. One shot and one dribble.

This forward role probably doesn't suit him, his natural position is No10.

He hasn't impressed me these last four games for Brazil, not in a 30M impressive way but i'd rather watch him play for us than Fellaini if we do sign him haha.

Close to signing for Liverpool according to Globoesporte.

I think going to Liverpool would make alot more sense for him than to us. I barely have seen him play football but from what I've read he'd be surplus to positions we're already pretty stocked on and he would just block talents at the club. As he's more of a false 9 I can't really see van Gaal signing him as a striker either.

I'm gutted if these latest reports are true. Ah well this window officially open or not is turd so far regarding us. Thanks to PSG though for rushing us into buying Depay otherwise we'd no doubt still be preparing our bid.

Whatever about how suitable he would be for us, he'd be great for liverpool

Wish they'd go back to chucking 35m on benteke or something

Yea it's getting quite worrying, especially with all the signings our rivals Chelsea, City and Arsenal have signed.

Not surprised that he may be signing for Liverpool. Initially thought it would be City, but had a feeling it would be Liverpool after his agent mentioned he will be moving to England, but declined to name the team. It's like they are embarrassed to name the club:lol: I sort of ruled United out because the player or agent will not mention something like that about United before the signing.

Who would he be blocking here?

Prepare for the ''you got Depay, but we nicked Firminho'' chants. From being close to signing for United evolving into being close to Liverpool. Football, what a game.
Can't imagine him picking Liverpool over United if we are genuinely interested. Anyway, at the moment it's all just paper talk and there's no reason to believe one story over another

as a german bundesliga viewer, i'm indeed very fond of firmino. he's been playing more or less consistently (!!!) good if not great, for several seasons. if i recall correctly, he never had an actual, prolongued slump and he is indeed bundesliga's greatest unsung hero imho. i even saw/see him as a (hypothetical) bayern target, to be honest, also due to his experience in both the league and country/culture. i also never came across a weird or negative report or an odd rumour on him.
all in all, firmino really seems like a determined player whom i could easily see step it up a notch or three in a really proper team. at hoffenheim, their ingenious offensive line often got set back by hilariously shambolic defending - week in, week out. so i think firmino could have already been a lot more in the focus if it wasn't for him playing in a team that usually tends towards hockey-like results.

Could you not just tell us all he's shite, and Liverpool are wasting their money? That way we can get back to laughing and mocking them. I don't like this idea that they might actually sign someone with genuine quality. It feels weird.

That's why it's not going to happen. Benteke it is then. :(

You really hate Bentekers don't you?

As for Firmino, from the twitter thread, it seems like the stories are from pretty solid sources. A journo with the Brazil NT atm I think.

Perfect

Decent player from what I have seen. Just doesn't scare me though. Was very lukewarm on us signing him, and pretty apathetic about Liverpool doing the same. They'll be nice and tidy with Firmino and Coutinho, but I think he's a downgrade on Sterling in the medium-long term.

I just don't see any need for him. Can see him moving to City, even Liverpool before us.

I desperately want us to sign him now. We must have him.

Fake. The shadow of the ball disappeared half way.

Hope you're not being serious. You simply can't see the shadow that far back in the depth of the field. He probably tried it several times before he got it in

Wouldn't be surprised to see City come in and gazump Liverpool. Seems like he's the kind of player that they need.

Strange decision to go to Liverpool if that's what he wants.

They'll say anything when they move. I think Liverpool are probably the only PL team that has expressed serious interest. This is the problem with United I think. We're looking at so many players who play similar positions and it seems there's a possibility we can get indecisive on players.

The latest rumor on Felipe for instance is that Lazio wants us to get 'serious' about our interest. I think the same happened with Clyne because we were also looking at Alves. We need to identify from our shortlists who we actually want to sign. Im just speculating btw
