Roberto Firmino

If given a choice, I'd prefer Felipe Anderson based on what I've seen of them.

Really like this guy from whatever clips I'm seeing of him. Got a bit of everything.

I'm watching him play against Columbia and he is having a real stinker...he just missed an open net too....a far cry from when he is at hoffenheim.

I hope we get Felipe Anderson

Still not sold on Felipe Anderson, he's only had less than one breakout season I think, unlike Firmino who has had a few good seasons so far. I mean he's shown talent but we've just bought Depay, where would Anderson fit?

Anderson is better on the right, depay left.

He's not an out and out winger. He can also play centrally. Reminds me of Ronaldo, unpolished though but great talent.

I thought he done ok last night. The miss was a poor but apart from that he was ok. If the rumours we are in for him are true can only see him being a back up to Rooney up front.

Looks like we are only linked with him because of what that Ze Elias guy said. I think he will go to City, doesn't make sense for us to sign him, we are stocked on the wings and behind the striker.

Yeah but the players we're stocked with aren't very good.

And this guy isn't any better.

He stunk last night against Columbia, but the whole Brazil team seemed off IMO. When I have seen him play for Hoffenheim he looked ok but I saw nothing really special. His you tube clips are great tho.

I don't think he was ok last night, that would mean that he contributed to the team at least a little. The team as a whole was awful, and he fitted right in. Done next to nothing and missed and open goal.

Having said that, I still think he's a great player and miles ahead Felipe Anderson, at least for now. He has done very well, in a way better league.

As you say on the whole the team was poor but it was by no means down to Firminio. He tried to link up with players around him, tried to play through balls and from what I saw generally tried to help the team and keep things going. He was stuck up front most of the night and barely saw the ball as between Neymar losing it and the quality of your midfield very little was created for him.

From what I saw he also tried to get around the pitch and put a few tackles in as well until he get the yellow. Ok by my standards what more can you ask if he doesn't get the ball?

The miss was poor but it wasn't an open goal there was a defender in his way and a goalkeeper sprinting to cover the other side and he rushed it.

Amusing that many have now decided that he's rubbish. I guess Neymar is rubbish too, and also a completel liability discipline wise going by that game.

He had a meh game, chill out people, he has had plenty of excellent games

He looks to have less about him than players we already have and aren't completely satisfied with.

This is my issue. Im trying to see in him what we don't already have in Di Maria or Mata for instance. I'd definitely play him over Fellaini. I think LVG is looking at him as a striker.

In before people claiming that he only played well in an inferior league and that he is nothing more than a mid table player. Oh and he's not PL proven.

The problem is that he has not played that much as a striker. And he is not a LvG-type. Ability wise he is great.

But if we want a true striker he should have a look at Venezuela tonight. Rondon is his type and one of the most underrated in Europe.

Rondon huh...sounds like an old school South American player from the 70s

Lots of sources saying we've bought him. Heard 13m and 25m

Dutch sources say 30m Euro, that's around 22m Pound I believe?

They sound like rock solid sources.

Solid sources they may not be, but it's coming from different angles so sounds like there could be some truth.
Difference in prices could be down to add ons or whatever. Or it could be bull.

I know little about this guy but seems a bit of a punt if true.

Well my sources are saying that Liverpool are looking to hijack the deal which means they'll announce him on the just monitoring list.
