Am surprised so many want him to come.
What makes you think 2 years ago was his actual level, rather than a massive freak of a season, where seemingly no one realised he was going to cut inside every single time?

I wouldn't bank on it being temporary mate, Jose's reputation for netagive, sterile teams is not without reason, I thought he was going to change here but for the last few months it's seemed to not be the case, and basically before that our gameplan was still fire it to the big man, he was just a more refined big man than the one we had to use once Ibra was injured.

No , I think jose understands Man united is not going to accept it long term, Wont sit with the fans here. When you have your backs against the wall a plan B is ok to keep winning but Man united as a club along with the fans would want attacking football and more so ever when you have the likes of pep and klopps in this league.

I hope you are right mate but after months of negative coward football, I mean "humble pragmatism" I'll need to see it to believe it.

Hm? I watched a fair amount of Leicester this season and I feel he's actually been very decent ever since Ranieri left. You can say all you want about his character and why he, along with Vardy and some others, downed tools for half a season and all that. But that's different to his footballing quality. In the CL and in the league post-Ranieri he still showed what he's capable of.

Based on this season, I'd say he's good to come for me. Based on last season, he could be replacing Bale at Real Madrid or something... he was phenomenal.

He's a great candidate to bring speed and dribbling ability down that RW, along with great deliveries. If that are better players at that, I'm all ears but I don't see many?

Counter attacking is a form of attacking football. If you want the early 2000s Fergie teams that severely underachieved in Europe because of a lack of tactical onus, then you be you. We're a club that wins. Period. This isn't long ball Bolton with Kevin Nolan playing in the hole. If anything, Mourinho is tactically flexible and it has shown a lot this past season.

I'd much prefer to stick with our current options, on top of integrating Griezmann. I don't think we'd be too far off with that single addition.

Sky TV? There's no mention on the website that's why I'm asking.

Manchester City have announced the signing of Monaco playmakerBernardo Silva.

Sky Sports News HQ understands City will pay £43m for the 22-year-old, who will officially move on July 1.

It means City have won the race for the Portugal international ahead of neighbours Manchester United, who were also interested in him.

The player flew into Manchester Airport on Thursday night and negotiations were swiftly concluded.

Silva's arrival signals the start of manager Guardiola's overhaul of a squad which finished a disappointing third in the Premier League in his first season in charge.

Stick with players that failed all season long and play without a striker? Rashford isn't nearly ready to be the 9 and Griezmann needs one to play off, at the very least we'll need to add a striker that fits Griezmann's game.

Fair enough

There is a lot of difference between playing Top quality counter attacking football with a great balance and playing direct long balls to fellani in the box, Saf had Rooney Ronaldo nani And Top quality attacking talents mate with good midfeild, and super strong defense with all the balance and work rate.

This team lacks those qualities to play such way and dominate the top 6.

We did win 2 trophies I think you'll find.
And how many games did we actually start Martial and Mikhy together in? Both had major issues this season

This.

Yeah we did, one due to a striker who's gonna be 36 on a crocked knee by the time he returns and the other due to parking the bus and Paul Pogba. Our wide players have been poor all season, both as goal threats and creators in our bread and butter, the PL, where we finished 6th behind mediocre dreck like Liverpool and Arsenal. However even if Jose uses them to rotate on the LW he's still going to need an actual #9 that can keep the ball when it's played up to him.

But they dont win either than.

I'm sorry, I don't understand this.

I mean they still stick to the style with no plan B even if they loose which they do, like Klopp's liv for example in europa league final. its good to be flexible with a plan B in damage control. But why get to that situation and not prepare better?

That's why i Felt Maharez could be another option.

Counter-attacking football can be enjoyable, and not devoid of inspiration like we have looked at times. There is no reason why Mourinho can't set up his team like Juventus, a team that can counter, but also be comfortable with possession and work the ball into the net.

We need a back up winger, but I am not sure he is the one who can play on a Mourinho team.

and remind me where they came with those players? Lack of creative options isnt the reason the didn't win the league
That's why they'll spend heavily on full backs. Obviously, I still hope Pep fails miserably, but on paper they will looks great come August.

David Silva, KDB, Sterling, Ageuro, Jesus, Fernandinho, Sane, Nolito....and now B.Silva? Completely overkill, lacks physicality and defensive nous. I think City will murder all the teams out of the top 6 but would find it incredibly difficult against strong, skillful tactically disciplined teams like Spurs, Chelsea and us. Pep's trying to create a new Barca but its not going to work in England.

With these set of midfeilders and Attackers? Its too much to say. juventus has been really clever and efficient in getting players which would suit them and their long term project.

I don't think we need a lot of new personnel to get to that level.

A lot of people equate counter-attacking with being totally reactive. Ferguson's great teams were devastating on the counter, but they also knew how to seize the initiative in a match and take matters to the opposition (4-1 against Blackburn, 5-2 against Tottenham, and many others). What happens when teams decide to cede the initiative to us this coming season?

No thanks have not been impressed this season he is too flaky.

Should have gone to Barca or Madrid when he had the chance and was shit hot last season. After this season he'll probably be rated as 80 on Fifa 18. Not good enough.

I'd take this guy for a max of £30m. Probably prefer him to Bernardo Silva too having not quite being sold on Silva for Man Utd. For that kinda money City can have him.

Not all that fast or strong, tenacious dribbling might not be enough in the premier league so City can take the gamble. He would have been a faster version of Mata but if an upgrade not much of an upgrade.

You don't think Martial can turn it around?

Yeah I think he can, but I'm not certain. If he's good enough he'll get his chances. I think we need someone for the right, nobody we have is a specialist in that position.
