If I remember correctly, in his last (and best) season a Udinese he played centrallyHe was absolutely " electric " in that position for Udinese
He had a lot of joy there , but Barcelona were signing him primarily for his ability to play on the rightIf I remember correctly, in his last (and best) season a Udinese he played centrally
What's Herrmann like from Moenchengladbach?
What is happening here? Why is Sane being mentioned so much? He hasn't been that good for Schalke and there are definitely many better options.
Are people mixing Mane and Sane?
Riyad MahrezLike?
If so then Saul would fit nicely.Does Mourinho not set up with one winger being more conservative?
Robben and Duff, Di Maria and Ronaldo. Not so conservative. Although he does like his players to be able to contribute defensively as well. I remember at Inter Eto'o just didn't track back at the start. He quickly learned that he needs to contribute to every part of the game if he wanted to succeed at Inter under Mourinho.Does Mourinho not set up with one winger being more conservative?
We won't play like that under Mou. He knows about the legacy and will be given a warchest big enough to prevent playing underdog football like he did at Chelsea/Inter.Robben and Duff, Di Maria and Ronaldo. Not so conservative. Dont really see it working in the prem for whole season..If so then Saul would fit nicely.
Duff and ADM.. They were both more conservative and responsible for most of the crossing as well, it's was one of reasons ADM pissed me off here.Robben and Duff, Di Maria and Ronaldo. Yeah but he can play there can't he? Has been playing right mid a lot this season for Atletico IIRC. He is obviously not a 'winger' though but if Mourinho wants a wide player who can defend, he could be the one.Saul isn't a winger.
Ah, finally someone who acknowledges Hulk. He has been my favourite player for years and he is the perfect inside forward. Just look at his numbers. For me, Hulk is the best option.
He's pacey, powerful, can score long shots, take on players and as a bonus, he can play up front as a striker if we need it. He's world class on his day and has proven it in the Champions League.
If that's not possible, I'd like to see the obvious "big" names... Hazard would be amazing here. James Rodriguez would slot right in but I rate him more as a CAM. Mane would be the best "cheap" alternative, he looks like a United player to me. But maybe the likes of Hermann, Schurrle, Shaqiri could be worth a shot. They are better than what we have currently.
Karim Bellarabi
Carlos Vela
Domenico Berardi
Bernardo Silva
Kevin Volland
Yannick Bolasie
Antonio Candreva
Alexis Sanchez
Douglas Costa
Antoine Griezmann
Willian
Arda Turan
Lucas Moura
Riyad Mahrez
James Rodriguez
Hulk
Hatem Ben Arfa

But it's a wet dream that is never hoing to happen. He'd be bloody expensive.

But let's pray to god we won't play with such defensively minded players in attacking positions.

SAF used to with Giggs and Beckham. Don't confuse the players ability and their instructions. It's quite common in football, one wide player being more advance and the other in the second row.We won't play like that under Mou. He knows about the legacy and will be given a warchest big enough to prevent playing underdog football like he did at Chelsea/Inter.
You never know. I've seen Van Persie sign for United, which was more surrealistic than what any of those would be.Few of them aren't options this summer unfortunately.

I think Rashford is a bit of a waste on the wing.a front 3 of Martial-Rashford-Hulk would be a force to reckon with. Rival defenders would need to be on their toes for 90 minutes running after this guys.
but yeah, way too expensive. Martial-Zlatan-Rashford could work as well.
Willian. When has Mourinho ever used that kind of player in a wide role? Maybe Pandev at Inter? Mostly though from Willian and Hazard, back to Duff and Robben, Mourinho has preferred pace and power in wide areas.
Yes he likes his wide players to work back, but he likes countering with pace and you can't do that with converted centre midfielders.
I think Rashford is a bit of a waste on the wing.
Willian.
Obviously he wants his wide players to be good attackers as well, but Willian is a really defensive winger. Look at his latest Chelsea side. Every fecking player were defensively minded except for Hazard and Costa. Prime example is the disgusting Oscar who is bang average in everything besides tracking back.
Saul is a deep lying central midfielder I know, and I wasn't being serious in my suggestion of us playing him on the right wing, I'm not mental. I just mentioned him as he'd be a perfect fit in a wide role in a Chelsea&Mou side.
Not really, he was superb on the wing for Porto.Hulk is at his best when he is not restricted to one role - in Zenit he is a free-roaming support striker with an absolute freedom. He has some amazing stats this season, even considering the dip of form when Zenit refused to sell him to China.
But when he is forced to play on a wing he is pretty average - look at his NT performances for example.
And yeah, he is bloody expensive.
I think Rashford is a bit of a waste on the wing.
he could do this all night long.
I mean I'm sure Rashford won't be complaining if he gets a shot in the wing rather than the bench. We also haven't seen him play there much I actually think his attributes currently make him better suited to the wing then ups top.
