Exactly.
Who cares if he gave away 40 runs in 15 or 70?
The wickets column was empty..and all that after Inzamam and co. had used all their gray cells to try and get India to be scared of the 'new' Akhtar.Looked the same bowler as a year back to me.Tunning up from 100 fecking yards and then bowling at the same line and length as Sami who's got to one of the worst bowlers Pakistan had.
Akhtar's line was short and thereabouts.Getting it into the rib-cage might get you Ganguly's wicket but against a murderous Sehwag and Dravid, no chance.
He didn't try anything new.Hardly any variety.
Have to say he's not developed as bowler and as a cricket fan its disappointing to see someone who had so much potential when he was 22-24 hardly develop or add something to his repetoire.
Pathan, whom you seem to have hardly seen or closely followed but still seem desperate to slate has shown the development that Akhtar showed in 5 years in 5 months.
Pakistan have hardly any other bowlers of note.Kaneria is still as shite as he was last year when he got pummeled by most Indian batsmen.(Getting wickets against the English on over-helpful wickets hardly counts)Sami, I have no idea why they choose to persist with him...I've seen better bowlers playing in Ranji in India.Navedul-Hasan keeps a good line but I'd hardly peg him as a match winner.
I'd say your best chance is a fully fit Umar Gul and a Shoaib who actually believes all that his captain gibbers on to the press.
