I think Fosu-Mensah would be the sort of defensive midfielder that has a presence all over the pitch- winning the ball back and supplementing the attack on occasion. Basically a box-to-box DM.

I prefer this approach for going for the younger players personally, if we'd have started this earlier we may never have missed out on talents like Moura and Hazard. Glad we're doing this now, add Zlatan to this signing along with Mourinho and the summer window is already shaping up to be very exciting!

If we sign him I will be delighted. He looks a very exciting talent but he must not be our only CM signing. He is only 18 and is just an exciting prospect at the moment.
If we can sign someone like Kroos too then our CM should be absolutely sorted. Schneiderlin/Carrick, Kroos/Schweinsteiger, Sanches/Herrera should have our central midfield sorted and very strong.
Fellaini has his benefits but if we signed these two I would sell him but I'm still undecided on Carrick. He is only on his way down but can still contribute so it's a dilemma.

That is a really exciting group of young players. If DDG stays, then he is only 25 as well, so thats a strong, young spine to the team.
Won't lose sleep over it, and will definitely learn to appreciate the player if he joins the club; but he's not much better than loads of other 'talents' that get overhyped and linked with United all the time for a zillion pounds only to underwhelm consistenly (would love to stand corrected when all's said and done - the club always takes precedence over personal opinions, of course - so hope he does exceedingly well if he joins United). And not that it matters because 'it's not my money' and all that jazz, but the fee is super excessive - must learn to be smarter with the money, or the prices clubs demand of United will reach uncontrollable levels, if they haven't already. There's still time for the deal to go tits up though.. X
Watching him this season I am yet to see what the fuss is about.
He's for me the only one worth listening to in general. It seems like he got an army of real ITK's working for him 24/7. The highlight from last summer is when he was live-tweeting the negotiations with Torino for Darmian.
Our scouts must be confident in his ability if we're willing to pay that much when an established player like Gündoğan is available for less.

Our scouts have watched every Benfica game this season. They must think he's worth it. Clubs can get these things wrong but you just have to hope they are right.
I've watched him have good and bad games but those two games against Zenit, he was something else. Completely dominated a team that had breezed through their group.

If they're good enaugh do you not think they'll start? The biggest stick people beat him with was this obvious mega talent called Loftus-Cheek yet he hasn't exactly wowed with his performances. He gave a genuine talent in Zouma plenty of chsnces. Varane at Madrid as well.
I think people will point to the fact that both Zouma and Varane were bought and had made a good number of appearances at their previous clubs and were known 'mega talents' where as our lads will already be here as soon as he comes and don't have as big profiles in the game yet, despite their good performances.
You can't seriously think players like Martial, Sanches, Stones and Shaw will be in the reserves. 3 of them he tried to sign for Chelsea and Sanches will be sanctioned by him considering he will be the next manager.
