Renato Sanches

That isn't true. Leicester are the fecking best team in the country!

We have the best goalkeeper, best left-back, one of the best right-backs, some of the upper tier of midfielders, the best young player in the world up front. It isn't as simple as us necessarily needing a whole new side. We need about three new players for the first XI, maybe four. We need fresh impetus and ideas more than anything else, but this side is definitely better than we are showing.

De Gea, Darmian, Smalling, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Martial - these are all good enough to start for a title winning side. We then have the likes of Mata, Herrera, Memphis who can also impact well either from the start or as squad players.

We need one or two to lift the attack, some drive in midfield (which Sanches may provide), and a centre-half to partner Smalling.
Agreed. You also don't always have to spend massive amounts to get players of the required standard, either.

Dele Alli cost Spurs about £5m last summer and he'd walk into our team at the moment. Last summer Sky were also reporting that we were close to signing Gündoğan for £21.5m and he's a respectable option.

But people always work on the assumption that it'll take at least £50m for us to bring in a competent youngster. It's daft.

At least he looks incredibly cool with his hair and the pace in which he plays. Hope we get him, future fan favorite.

Do you even try anymore when you are posting Santiago?

Yesterday we had youngsters pretty much everywhere except in midfield. Just saying even if mourinho comes then I'd assume we will buy the players already shortlisted by LVG & Co rather than letting Mourinho come in and decide after.

There's also the little rumour that Jose is offered the England job. I don't mind Mourinho being United manager but me saying England will win the world cup soon doesn't sound that bleak anymore does it?

It'll take more than Mourinho for that to happen.

I think he is the most realistic option. Because it seems that Gundogan could go to City and Pogba to Madrid/Chelsea.

Renato Sanches could be an special player like Martial, so I hope we sign him but not overpaying.

Late night jumping the gun thoughts...

Would a potential front 4 of Mempis Rashford Martial Sanches get bums off seats?

Personally i haven't seen Sanches play by the way, so I am actually asking. Would be 4 tricky, pacey young attacking talents though (In Sanches' case, from what I've read)

I might be thinking well in to the future but for me Fosu Mensa & Sanches would make a wonderful CM partnership.

Schneirdlin & Herrera did very well against arsenal but i find the balance to be tricky because Herrera is much more attacking based whilst Schneirdlin is almost completely defensive.

Fosu mensa has the ability to attack but is fundamentally a defensive player. The same with Sanches for all his ability to attack he also has a decent ability to make a tackle.

I'd like to see the whole team compact and expand at the right time so player balances are very important. So I think it could really work.

For now, I prefer players like Gundogan, Mahrez and Griezmann... But I'm not against of signing talented young players.
f they reach their potential could be a really good team. For example:
Sanches -- Fosu-Mensah
Sane -- Barkley -- Memphis
Martial

Don't worry, the majority are basing him on one or two matches or youtube clips.

I've watched a few Benfica matches on BT Sport, he has potential but isn't worth anywhere near the money being mentioned and has a lot of development to do, not what we are missing in midfield IMO.

Why would this weekend be his last match?

Pretty much this. I've caught a good number of games and it is a no. It's typical Benfica and Jorge Mendez wanting a piece of the money action

Last BIG match.

I'm sure Gaitan had tons of last big matches.
so has he got a load of 5 a side booked for the rest of the season or something?

Hopefully it turns out like most of our other Benifca links, there are several better, cheaper and more experienced options around Europe for a new CM.

The last player I remember with similar style and hair is:

Of course they have been many bad players with these traits but lets gloss over that.

Satellite

Sign him up

Didn't people say he's not that good on here ?
He's just very raw, he's no world beater but he's in the bracket of young talent who has the tools to make it. Whether he does will depend on himself like most young players. But he's in this tier of player at the moment that in a few years time people will say "oh God I wish we signed him before ...", Shaw, Martial and Memphis all cost premiums because of their potential so this kid will as well but he's in their tier of potential talent.

He doesn't have to be the finished product, if the talent and work ethic are there, then I don't mind us paying big money for him. After the Martial signing, my faith in our scouting has been restored.

Same happened the Summer of World Cup 2014, there were some on here demanding we sign Willi Carvalho another Mendes client. Then they actually saw him play in real life for Portugal and didn't rate him anymore:lol:

You can't judge a player from YouTube, computer games or what the tabloids say.

If we are dropping huge money on a young Midfielder represented by Mendes then it should be Ruben Neves of Porto instead.

Neves (Porto) and Tielemans (Anderlecht) have been in bad form lately. I have not seen Bazoer this year. Do you think Renato Sanches is a better talent than the other ones?
Which you CM would you prefer instead of Sanches? (Saul? Geis? Weigl? Meyer? Goretzka?...)

Saul and Geis are older than Renato Sanches, Ruben Neves and Tielemans. Don't think the comparison would be fair at this moment in time.

I know, that's why I mentioned the teenagers like Neves, Tielemans and Bazoer before. They are the ones that can be compared with Renato Sanches.
The other players are still young 20-22. So the question is, if we sign a young midfielder.... Who would you prefer?

Is this happening? Any reliable sources? Or more bs from the same sources that go on about other players we have signed a dozen times.

I'd prefer Geis, Tolisso, Weigl, Bazoer and Saul to Neves, Tielemans and Renato Sanches. That's mostly because I've seen more of the former players than the latter. In terms of who I'd like us to sign the most, it's probably Tolisso or Weigl.

Edit: I've seen very little of Neves, Tielemans and Renato Sanches.

Weigl looks the most refined to me right now, but Sanches is a different type to the others in that he's more of a ball carrier than a passer.

Dreadlocked midfielder from Portugal. What could go wrong?

Anderson might have cost the club over £50m between his transfer fee, wages and canteen food bill but...

he did nutmeg Fabregas that one off game he played like a man possessed.

Who am I kidding. I lived the chubby little fecker like he was my own

He will be our Kante. Fantastic in Mourinho's 433 or 4231 I bet.
