RedCafe's Top 50 Albums

What the feck has been going on in here while I have been away?

Franco, nice work in trying to keep order (fecking Backstreet Boys? ffs) you are now my official number 2.

Oh and Maroon, fecking do one, your list will NOT be included as franco has stated, nothing personnel though.

Sabotage mate. I think some form of order has been restored

Evening fella.

Not sure why people can't just stay the feck out, start your own fecking thread if you want to chat shit about the Backstreet Boys or whatever.

Anyway, my list is almost there but I'm gonna sit on it for a few days until I'm sure I'm happy with it, keep getting this nagging feeling that I have forgotten some doozys.

I dunno, some feckin freaks on here. ''The best albums are the ones which sell the most''..... fecking clown

Yeah same here, there's bound to be a few you miss, it's easily done. Will be posting mine over the weekend

I'll let you go first then, first task as my No. 2 :D

Just been re-listening to Led Zeppelin II and IV, fecking class band.

Legends.

Any limit on the number of albums by a single band? Just thinking about this, two's probably fair or it gets a bit daft.

I know I'm not on the panel, but I'm gonna make a list anyway cause I'm in work and I'm bored.

I think my list is finished, can't decide whether to post it yet or wait, I guess I can still edit it if I change my mind on a few things.

I should bite the bullet and be the first seeing as this was my idea.

Fair play on having Led Zep II so high up. People seem to disregard it but it's definitely my favourite album of theirs.

Put it on last night for the first time in years, it swung the balance.

Very honest list there Nomes. Good on you. And you have a very broad taste, I like that.

A few albums I don't know, and a few classics that I never bothered listening to, that I quite frankly owe to myself like Led Zeppelin.

Thank you Maroon, and yes you really should check out Zepp they are legendary, shaped rock as we know it.

People should listen to sixties Floyd instead of their overrated mid-late seventies stuff. I love Darkside but Wish You Were Here and The Wall have soured on me, the lyrics are immature socialogical nonsense and their music had just become too much Yes's by then with lots of Moog synths and long guitar solos. I don't like the clean production on them either but that's personal as I prefer albums to have a rougher sound to them. I can understand why people love them but I think their earlier albums have a lot more thought and heart in them. Jugband Blues is an incredible song that by them that nobody seems to know.

People should listen to what they like. I like the earlier Floyd too but prefer these two as they were what got me into Floyd in the first place, couldn't not put Dark Side in and I just love Wish You Were Here.

Similarities with your list Nomes, as I suspected.

Mine's got more hip-hop, yours more of the classics.

Ok, there's no Led Zep, no Beatles, no Floyd, no Hendrix, no Stones etc. I do not doubt how great all these guys were, I've simply not heard enough of em to include them in my list...

Yeah, I feckin love that album. As you said, it's all about opinions

Fair enough. Just as someone who likes that band and saw them live, I thought the second album was just about alright. I'm very surprised someone likes it enough to be one of their favourite albums ever, but fair enough.

Shit, that's three albums I've commented on already today. I'm staying out of this thread from now on* or I'll waste all my time arguing about music. :nervous:

* I will examine every single list posted and pass comment
