RedCafe's Top 50 Albums

Stop yer fecking winging people 100 it is. Time to widen your musical pallet if you are gonna struggle finding 100, so could be good for everyone concerned.

I'll update the panel list so far.

Spooney are you in?

So, so far we have:

RedNome
Mehro
Spammy
Hammer
norwegian-red
Cornell
Primetime
francobaresi
Shotgun raisin
Spooney (I took the liberty)

It's looking like the majority of people are gonna struggle with the 100. I guess people aren't as open with music on here as they are with films, this suprises me.

Maybe we should knock it down to 50 for the sake of doing a decent list, gonna make my decisions fecking difficult though, too many I'll have to leave off.

Ok chaps 50 it is.

Could a kindly mod or admin please change the thread title for me?

I'll do it as long as the deadline's a decent time away. And though I could probably come up with 100 albums, 50 might be a better number. Or 176, whatever floats your boat.

We'll do the same as the movie one, maybe the end of January or something.

I'll add your name.

I hope no one is expecting me to list random Dylan, Springsteen and Clash albums that i've never fecking heard just to make my Top 50 look more trendy.

We're listing our own favourites right?

The best ones that you have heard, not necessarily your favorites if you get my drift, as I said above it's a good chance to widen your musical horizons and listen to some classic albums and some you would not usually listen to maybe.

Try to be as objective as you can.

I'm making a list of my personal favorites. Can't put albums that i don't rate in my list.

Are these to be in order of 'greatness', Red Nome, or simply a list?

Looking forward to doing this.

I would like to add a list, but when is the deadline?
I'm pretty busy until after next weekend.

You've got plenty of time, deadline will be end of January at the earliest, I'll let you know once the panel has been finalised.

I'll add your name.

People who don't have at least 300 albums at home are fecking troglodytes.

Right that's thirteen people so far, I'll leave it until tomorrow night to finalise the panel, so get your names down quick.

Panel so far:

RedNome
Mehro
Spammy
Hammer
norwegian-red
Cornell
Primetime
francobaresi
Shotgun raisin
Spooney
Lizard King
doogie_style
Ivor Ballokov
Kristjan

yeah I could (probably) do that

just so there'll be a completely abstract list in there :)

Agreed, Kristjan's list ought to be interesting.

Have my first 44 down already, most are fairly predictable choices, but makes me want to listen to most of them all over again.

One of the problems I'm having with this will be albums which are great because of their impact measured against an album which has more than one duff track on it, but is great for the rest of it....if that makes sense?

I'm in, simply because a lot of my list won't have been heard of by anyone on here. 100 is a bloody lot though. Not that I don't like 100 I could probably name a 1000 but its a feckin' lot of typing

I'll add

Right, anyone else who wants to be involved, you've got tilll midnight to get your names down.

There are 4 places remaining as I'm limiting it to 20 otherwise I'll be there till next year combining the lists into one, so first come first served.

I don't want a load of shit off people for including different genres in my list either. Expect to see hip-hop, metal, indie and dance albums in my top ten.

Same here franco, mine is going to be eclectic to say the least.

Seeing as i am looking to listening to some other genres other than punk, grunge and pop i might as well sign up for this. Should be able to list 50 very good albums.

You'll have a month or so to cram so all's good.

I'll put your name down.

You've all got till midnight 31st of January to get your lists together and posted.

Remember it's 50 albums placed in order of greatness, I may be able to make a top 100 list from all your lists together, I won't know until they are all in though, we'll see.

Happy list making.

To be honest mate my list is mostly going to be metal, rock, hardcore, ska, punk and sub-genres of the above. I don't expect many outside of stobzilla, ret, loops and michaelness to recognise a lot of my chosen albums.
