Redcafe Snooker

Playing well but Hull hasn't done much to trouble him. His frame at the end will only be a consolation though

Well, after making a little money on Murphy I decided to risk it on Ding v Higgins in the 3rd frame. It came in but Coral didn't pay up after an hour, went on live chat to see what was happening and he was saying he will try to sort it out for me. Anyway, 30 mins being in live chat with him and getting nowhere I started to be a little sarcastic and asking him how is digestives tasted, how many stars are now visible to the naked eye in the time it has taken him to sort it out etc. Think he had enough in the end and manually rectified my winnings along with a free £15 bet which I put on Ding in this 7th frame. All's well that ends well. Saying that he might bloody lose it now.

What a great win for McGill yesterday against Selby. Played some cracking shots/frames along the way, ended with a 95% pot success on his longs shots too which is excellent.

Well, after winning the previous frame somehow, Higgins now has the chance to win this one too. Played some great snookers to give himself the chance.

Sir Alex just had a frame with Parrot, seems like he is quite good about the table. Carter v Robertson up next, nice to see Ali looking strong and well.

Sir Alex was looking well, wasn't he? Doing alright for an old bastard.

Robertson looking to be in amazing form. Excellent 145 total clearance to wrap it up. He's in with a shout, definitely.

EDIT: Trump looks good too. I've always thought that he is more style over substance, but he seems a different player and has the flair and range of positional shots that few outside of the likes of Ronnie and Jimmy White can get near.

Should be interesting QFs. I wouldn't write off Shaun Murphy either. Good tournament so far.

There's definitely a few players in it at the moment. Murphy's been playing well recently, but you'd expect Trump to possibly win one eventually, while Robertson is another top player who has a strong chance.

O'Sullivan craves attention always has to be something going on with him, fantastic player though, the fans do my head in too constantly shouting out when he plays.

Would be pleased to see a Trump v Robertson final.

The TV coverage is spoiled slightly by the constant talking of Willie Thorne and John Virgo - they never shut up.

Give over, he doesn't crave attention at all, Ronnie just is a character and bit of a rebel, he does his own thing, always has and this is why he has so many fans because he's good to watch from all aspects, table, off the table, antics during play, interviews, crazy comments, its just how he is. How can he crave attention when he always has it, not just from public or pundits but from his fellow pro's who he has trying to practice with their left hand!!!!!

Would like to see Robertson out as always because he's simply an awful, arrogant Kun Aguero, also hope McGill beats Fatty Murphy as tired of seeing that ugly face on the camera zoom, duck lips! Is Judd v Ronnie possible? Best players in the game by far and it doesn't matter if cocky Robertson or Fatty don't go out yet because Ebdon's aprentice aka Mark Selby is long gone and that is fantastic for the entertainment!! Great so far.

That would be brilliant and tough - my two favourites. Trump looks fantastic, finishes the day 12-4 against Ding, one away from the semis. But you never know, form changes so quickly, especially in a long tournament like this.

I really like McGill, done well in emerging in this tournament. He'll struggle to win it, but a player for the future.

Great game between O'Sullivan and Bingham. Bingham trying to keep a 147 alive by taking on shots even Ronnie would probably turn down!

Really want a Ronnie Trump semi-final but I can't even see him getting past Bingham at the moment, 11-9

He doesn't really look all that interested at the moment, to be honest. He might squeeze past Bingham, but I'd be very surprised if he won it.

Trump or Murphy for me right now. Murphy's been in good form for a while and is playing consistently at the tournament, while Trump sailed past Ding and is playing some of his best snooker.

Another big break from Robertson. Really tight match.

Mammoth contest between Robbo and Hawkins tonight. Neither deserves to lose this final frame.

Robertson out, yes!! Thought he was going to get lucky in this match but Barry Hawkins finally stuck him away, never want to see him win it again, one is enough. Hawkins reaction whilst still playing was amazing, rub it in. Anyone but fatty Murphy to win it now but ideally Trump or Hawkins.

Don't mind who wins it now, all 4 of them are playing well. Roberston v Hawkins was a match of a very high standard.
Murphy has been playing well for the last 6 months ,his cue action is fantastic, so may be slight favourite in his match whilst Trump has been sailing through his and may be a little bit fresher than Bingham.

Murphy v Trump is the more likely final, but you can't right off the other 2 for sure. It's wide open.

I've never understood the slating Mark Selby gets for being boring. I honestly think he is one of the most entertaining snooker players up there. I do enjoy a tense safety battle over a long break though which is why I love watching Selby. He is just so good at winning frames in a different way. Peter Ebdon is painfully boring as he takes a lifetime to even consider a shot but there is much more to Selby than that.

I agree completely. He seems from interviews a decent bloke and always has a laugh with the audience.

Some of the best players ever were considered boring, Davis, Hendry are good examples. They rarely showed any emotion on the table, it's just the way they were. Robertson is the same.
Jimmy White was fantastic, a totally different character, loved by the fans - however the more 'boring' type were the winners.

Clearly the likes of O'Sullivan and Trump are entertaining to watch. Selby isn't the same kind of player but I don't get the boring tag.

I don't get the Murphy dislike also.

When you call yourself the Jester people tend to expect something a little more than a dour face and slow frame rate. But I do like Selby, for what it's worth.

I'd like to see Murphy win it now. He used to grate on me but the quality of his ball striking is too good to ignore.

Disappointed to see both Robertson and Ronnie bow out. Probably my two favourite players on the circuit.
