Redcafe Snooker

Yeah, Murphy dominated the final. It wasn't even close.

Happy for Murphy, didn't mind who won as I like both of them but was hoping for more frames at the least.

He seems a nice bloke and is a top player. Remember when he won the world back in the day it was a bit of a shock, but it may have took a while, but he has gone on to show he is world class.

150/1 were his odds according to an interview on the BBC the other day.

Pleased for Murphy, top bloke, top red. Him and Robertson are probably my 2 favourite players but I was edging towards Murphy last night so he could complete his own Triple Crown! Like he says, it's something that the media has created and the Masters isn't even a ranking event, but still it's a top achievement considering only the top 16 make the cut.

Can't get enough of snooker at the moment, only wish the UK and Masters had more frames instead of first to 6 before the final. If you get off to a slow start then you're essentially screwed

Trump just got a 147 in the quarters of the German Masters, meanwhile O'Sullivan is 2-2 against Murphy, great century break just then

I bet on Murphy to beat Allen. He went 3 frames up and then Allen won 4 in a row and only needed one more to win. Then in the following frame he was at the table and looking really comfortable so I turned it off in disgust. Turns out I got my money, Allen must have really blown it!

Murphy in the final, against Selby or Maguire. Seems like he is finding his feet again in the past 12 months, on a bit of a roll.

Selby currently 5-1 up against Maguire, Maguire about to pull one back though. Doubt he'll managed to win the match though so it looks like a borefest of a final with Selby and Murphy.

No chance back for Maguire in that, he doesn't have the gumption any longer for a comeback like that.

P.S - DriveClub?

Awesome quarters.

Can't get more exciting than that. Just a shame we had just one tv table, so, much more exciting for German audience there.

Murphy this year is quite a different animal than for instance last year. I actually expect him to beat Selby, we'll just see if it'll be the same pattern, win 3, lose 4 or more then, then win. :D

World Champs start soon.

Currently in second round of qualifiers, Jimmy White is 7-2 up at the interval, Davis 8-1 down. Michael White who would be ranked 16 but for Ali Carter's rank being frozen was knocked out yesterday.

White disastrous this evening. Lost the session 1-8, and the match 8-10. Terrrrrrrible. Young and old ones alike are not having a great day, Lisowski, White, Brecel, White, Davis, all lost.

Also, best of 19 are fantastic.

Booked a couple of weeks off work for this, absolutely love sitting back doing absolutely jack but watching this tournament. The reigning champion kicks us off tomorrow and the man with the webbed hands is currently at 4/7 for a frame. Some easy money in that. Only downside is getting up at 10 am.

That was a dire shot (after Selby's foul) by Maflin.

Massive foul then. Could be a match winner.

Never mind. What terrible positional play.

Quite the game in the end between Selby and Maflin, unfortunately. Actually made a £2.50 loss and that was only because I put £50 on Selby to win when he was 8-9 behind. Maflin looks to be one of the late bloomers, done reasonably well since coming back on the tour 3/4 years ago or whenever it was after looking set to be a really top player in his teens. Quite like watching him play but I thought Selby would wipe the floor with him.

Mr Hawkins should be a winner today, 8/11 a frame too. Don't know how Selt got out of that at 2-2 with some of the shots he played. Hopefully Barry can get this next one 3-1 at least.

Some of these odds are great for the first round of the championship on the favourites. 1/2 for Robertson a frame and he is walking away with it already, as expected.

There's a player in the tournament called Robbie Williams.

Ding Junhui's Crucible curse seems to be continuing.

Ding's recovered, looking like he'll go through.

Have Ronnie (-5.5) at 4/6 and Mark Williams in a double. I've been fecked over so many times by snooker that it's unreal so I already wish I didn't bother.

Steadman playing some decent safeties against Ronnie, but it still looks like a match where he'll emerge relatively comfortably.
